7:20 am, I stared at the wall clock, gaze peering at it.

It was just past the time of resumption, yet none of the maids had arrived.

Finger snatching my apron from its rack, I got to work immediately.

The kitchen remained in a mess after the party last night, even after Arabella had helped clean it up.

Arabella. Sadness crossed my eyes at the thought of her.

Even though the girl and I were just getting to know each other, I found myself missing her.

The sound of feet approaching the kitchen, snapped me out of my thoughts as I turned to the entrance, staring at whoever was walking through there.

Cameron.

His gaze rested on me for a few seconds, accessing my figure, and suddenly, he began advancing towards me.

Getting up to my feet slowly, I stepped backwards while he drew closer, gaze holding mine strongly.

Taking steps back, my body touched the kitchen island, stating there was no where else for me to turn to.
