My phone blared loudly, ringing on my desk, earning me a few stares from the people around me. The class was yet to be filled with all students, but the ones present, was enough to cause an uproar on this bright peaceful morning. My eyes missed the caller's name while I quickly brought the phone to my ears. "Hello?" I uttered immediately, adjusting in my seat and clearing my throat. A gasp escaped my lips as Cameron's voice filled my ears from the other side. "Babe?" He called, after there was no response coming from me. Even though he left for college two days ago, hearing his voice still brought me to shock. We couldn't talk on phone the day he left, and even the day after that, cause for some reason, his line wasn't going through. I stayed up all night wondering if he was alright, while sending messages to him. Messages he didn't receive. "Cameron" My breath came out hot as I whispered his name into the speaker of the phone. "Hey!" He responded immediately. "You got me
17, April...."Why are we even doing this?" My voice came out raspy, yet audible enough for Ashley to hear me. "Cause we're gonna be graduating soon, do you need me to spell it out more for you?" She replied, placing her arms akimbo. "Oh, I understand that. What I don't get, is why we have to shop for dresses now when graduation is in a month's time" I said to her. "Nia! If we leave now and come back here a week to graduation, trust me, all of the pretty dresses would have been swept off the shelves" "Take it from someone who loves getting clothes as soon as it hits the stores" She added. She grabbed her juice cup, taking a sip from it, then turning to look at me. "I promise it won't be hectic" She uttered, placing her palms together. "It's already been hectic, Ashley" I stated. "Oh, don't you be a whiner. C'mon, let's go!" She pulled my arms immediately, dragging me to a lady who was in another section of the store. Turned out they knew each other. The lady gladly led us t
1, May....My eyes scanned the surroundings of USC, a smile lurking on my lips while I watched people move around. The warm air of the environment surrounding me gently, as I got enthralled by its beauty. I saw a few people skating alongside the walkway, whistling while throwing looks my way. My eyes averting each of their gaze, not wanting stares of any sort. A guy with clean shaved blonde hair, came skating towards me, bringing his hands out of his pockets and twirling on his skates. Showcasing his skills of course. Ashley who was finding it hard to get out of the car, finally joined me after what seemed to be a while, giving her hair light taps, while picking a cherry gloss from her bag and dabbing her lips with it. "Hey!" I heard the blonde-haired skater guy call out as he got closer to Ashley and I. "Would you mind going for a drink? There's a restaurant just by the corner if you're interested" I stared at him, observing every single detail. His black pants hung a bit below
"Thanks for ditching me the other day. I'm totally fine, you need not worry. All I need you to do is get yourself out of bed and come over now!" I heard Ashley say to me on the call. The phone was pressed to my ear while I laid on bed, grabbing my pillows and relaxing better. "It's too early, Ash" I said to her while yawning and flexing my bone joints."Nia!" "I've got something to tell you" She uttered after I didn't respond. A sigh escaped my lips as I took a portion of hair off my face. "How important is this?" I asked. "A hundred out of hundred important" She replied immediately. My head ached as I heard her speak. I had stayed up all night, bawling my eyes thinking of the arguments, that ensued between Cameron and I. He had called countless times after that day, but being the hard girl I am and will always be, I ignored all of his calls. Even, several messages were left for me. Ones which I acted like I didn't receive. I was more than mad at him, and that, I wanted him
I sighted Ashley standing by the large door as soon as I drew closer to the Mansion. She pulled me by the arms on getting to her, dragging me inside. "Why am I here?" I asked her, my hands still locked in hers. There was a bright smile on her face as we got into the living room. "Guess what?" "What?" "Mason and I are now in a relationship!" She squealed. "Who's that?" I asked totally confused. She brought her phone out, unlocking it and then showing me a picture. It was a pic of the guy we met back at the store. Trust me, I'm as surprised as you are on how she got the pic. Ashley's a girl who gets her ways. That's for sure. "His name's Jason?" I asked her. "Mason" She corrected"And we're now dating!" "When and how did it happen?" I asked her, my eyes widening a bit. "Well he asked me last night, after I went visiting him" "Hold up" I said to her. "You've been visiting him?" I asked. "Well you would have known that if you weren't ignoring my calls" I bent my head low
I couldn't help blinking continuously as camera lights flashed in my eyes, turning my pupils dilated. We were stood in a photo booth, Ashley and I taking our final pictures of prom. Our last prom ever, so we had to make the best of it. Ashley's hair slapped my face countless times as she turned from side to side, trying to get the best position. Her arms were wrapped around my shoulders, pulling me closer while our cheeks kissed. "Smile" She muttered in clenched teeth. I did as told, switching poses and then relaxing as soon as we were done with all of the pictures. Taking the strip of pictures, along with some prom stickers and then turning to Ashley. "Let's go have the time of our lives" She squealed at me. Nodding and smiling in agreement, I eagerly followed while being pulled by her firm hands. We came to prom as each other's dates, hence, decided sticking by, till it was over. Grabbing a cup of drink from a table, Ashley placed two straws in and then held it out for me t
"Students, ladies and gentlemen I welcome you all to this ceremony aimed to honor not just ourstudents, but everyone present here. Today calls for the celebration of our Kids, teachers and school as a whole. Watching our students grow, mentally and physically has made me so proud of the leaders they're becoming. It's an honor to be the one leading these students in saying goodbye to this incredible school. It is not the end, but the start of another journey. To our students, the future awaits you. Go for it, never be scared of doing what you want, grab a hold of the passion, it's an entry into discovering your self and achieving your dreams" My eyes lingered on the lady dressed in red and white, famously known around school as the principal. The long paper which she held in her hands, didn't seem to have an end to it, as she went on and on about the leaving students. My mind immediately blocked every thing and everyone out, thinking of what was to become of me after all of this, w
We arrived England a week after Cameron made the announcement to me. Trust me when I say this, I was more than thrilled being here with him. It meant a lot to me that he chose to bring me over to his home country. More than that, he made plans for us to visit his Grandparents, quite scary, yet exciting. "Babe?" I heard his voice behind me as we both got down from the cab, our gazes, peering at the old-fashioned building belonging to his grandparents mounted in front of us. The building was spectacular, not to forget strange-looking. So different from the dozen of houses we passed through while getting here. The gardens surrounding it remained green and bright, and the front yard of the house appeared beautiful, despite the building looking like it was built in the eighties. Cameron's arm snaked through my waist, gently pushing open the small gate, leading to the building. The rusty gates made a squeaky noise, getting me to flinch instantly at the sudden sound. Hurrying up besid
