Chapter 14 – The pack members
Alice's PoV
It is already morning, Jack who was sleeping in my arms is sound asleep, he was soo adorable and sweet that I want to keep staying like this and keep hugging him but that cannot happen as I am the alpha now. I just wish Jack knows what he means to me and stay away from other females or even males, well... except from me of course.
I'm also glad that Jack's heat has subsided, but one thing that was stuck on my mind was why his heat only lasts for 1 day, it would normally last a week for werewolves but then again, Jack is a human so it may work differently, but I am glad he doesn't feel any pain now. Alice's PoV During the meeting, we discussed the incidence of the attack and which borders did the rouges cross and it seems this attack was pre-planned beforehand but who has the power to take control of rouges who are starved from their rationality? And more specifically why? “It would seem this is not the end of the attack, it is likely a second wave would approach us any time soon, we must ensure the safety of the women and children” one of the officers said. Alice's PoV The scent of Jack was wavering in the thick blooded air, but it must have been my imagination, the rouges has fallen one after another. A dark shadow approached me acting as my protection, killing the rouge who tried to stab from behind, I was in a daze in seeing the shadows movement, the physique looks slim and feminine but also so familiar... Getting a closer look when the shadow approached, I felt so comfortable and safe with no doubt, I was caught in it's beautiful eyes that looks so dazzling and glorious as if I am sinking in it. Jack's Pov The darkness slowly consuming me, taking me away from my sanity and consciousness. Sinking deeper and deeper into the dark abyss. A vague light shined in front of me. Alice's PoV Another week has passed, everything was going as normal but there was just one thing. Jack has still not awoken from her slumber. Nothing really changed, I carry on my daily schedule and any free time, I would come to see Jack but to no avail one day after another... she was still sleeping soundly as if never to be awoken. Despite Lilia comforting words that Jack would soon awaken, I am getting more desperate. The need to see those beautiful eyes, her memorising voice, her warm touch on my skin and the urge to make her my mate. But nothing of this would happen. Jack's PoV It's already morning, I stayed in Alice's deep embrace and cuddled up to the warmth that was within my grasp. A feeling that I haven't felt in a long time. Looking up close, Alice changed a lot, he looks... older and more depressed. It also seems he hasn't shaved for a long time, and his skin also looks pale, maybe from overworking and he has the dark panda looking eyes which made me laugh but also quite worried to see him in such a state. Jack's PoV I couldn't feel anything, I felt limp, everything was a blur, I feel like I'm in the most quietest place, peaceful but dark with nothing to disturb me, allowing to have a good rest from everything that has been happening. However, why was I here? As I tried to recall, I remember I was with Alice after I nearly killed someone and injured the pack members and then... I was marked! My eyes suddenly bulged wide opened and I touched the side of h nape where Alice has marked, feelings the puncture hasn't healed yet, I knew I wasn't dreaming and that I have hurt people. J...Jack.... jack... jack can you hear me? Sophie's voice slowly became clearer and clearer, yes I can hear you now, why am I here in the first place anyways.
