Maliyah
It’s finally Friday, game day. Football players are in their jerseys and the cheerleaders are in their uniforms. Classes won’t be so boring and we have a prep rally today after school. This is the last game before the big championship game and the boys are pretty cocky that they’ll win. Granted they are undefeated this year.
“Maliyah! You ready!”
“I’m coming!”
I grab my car keys and meet the twins in the living room. They’re practicing some of our cheers and Oliver knocks over a vase causing it to shatter all over the floor.
“Oops,” he chuckles and uses his powers to fix the vase, placing back in it’s original spot.
“Handy with magic at your disposal,” I tease and we all giggle.
“You ready for tonight?!”
“I have a new outfit for tonight and I got candles for
Maliyah“I told you to not eat the Mexican omelette. It always messes with your stomach,” I yell out from the living room.“Bite me,” yells Oliver making me and Olivia laugh.“You’re gonna make us late for the game,” says Olivia just as we hear the flush of the toilet and Oliver walks out of his room.“Shut up, I’m ready okay.”We both giggle at Oliver and head to my car. Thankfully we arrived with plenty of time to spare. We play our pom poms where they need to go and do some practice basket tosses. I love the feel of falling. It’s one of my favorite things when flying in my dragon form. Each team is already doing warm ups on the court and us cheerleaders do some stretching as the stands fill up. It is quite packed tonight though it doesn’t surprise me since this game will determine who goes to the championship game. The other team’s mascot is
MaliyahThere are so many people here that I am not sure they all attend Palmetto High. Many are leaning against trees with beers in their hands and making out. I even catch sight of Olivia with her crush and they are making out as well. Luca gets us some sticks for our s’mores and puts marshmallows at the end. We talk about everything and nothing at the same time while we get our marshmallows to a golden brown.Luca grabs us plates of graham crackers and chocolate for us and I smash my marshmallow between the crackers, melting the chocolate. I take a bite and Luca laughs at me.“What is so funny?”“You have chocolate on your chin,” he says as he takes his thumb and gently wipes the chocolate away and licks it off his thumb.“Oh…umm..thank you,” I reply blushing.
AspenI listen to the monitor closely as it’s the one thing telling me that Maliyah’s heart is still beating. There were nothing but kids at the party and yet we know one of them spiked all the drinks. Derek’s border patrol checked on the party once they were informed of Maliyah being there and everyone was passed out. Literally everyone, even the humans. It took a while, but with the help of the coven everyone was able to get home safely once we were sure no one was poisoned. Unfortunately for Maliyah and the twins, Maliyah was on her way home and flipped her car once she passed out. With her car being a convertible, the crash was horrible and the car is totaled, but thankfully everyone is alive.Dimitri reported that all the drinks were laced with henbane. A herb that is capable of inducing a profound and long lasting unconsciousness, thanks to i
MaliyahThe weekend went by quickly and all weekend I had been annoyed and easily agitated. Luca never called to check on me once and this cast is driving me insane. Taking a shower is a pain and it itches all the time.‘I’m sorry I am unable to heal it right now.’‘It’s not your fault Terra, it’s mine. We should’ve never snuck out to begin with. I’ll live, you just focus on healing yourself.”I finish getting ready since I have to go to school. My parents are amazing and quickly replaced my car. I now own a brand new white Ford Edge. It at least as a sunroof since I am not longer allowed to have a convertible. I tried to reason with parents as the possibility of me getting into another accident was slim to none, especially since the accident wasn’t even my fault to begin with, but they wouldn’t bite. At least I have car so I ca
MaliyahI could just teleport, but decide to take my car so I can pack everything I need in it rather than teleport back and forth. When I arrive I find cousin River has my favorite already made with a chocolate shake waiting. I am sure my parents told him I was coming.“Rough day cuz?”“Very. You are the best, thank you.”“I figured you could use comfort food. Let me know if you need anything.”The best thing about River is he never pushes or hovers. He kisses the top of my head and leaves me to eat my food in peace. My guards sit in a different booth as well and eat, not bothering me. After I finish my meal I decide to head outside to the garden and check on the fruits and vegetables we grow. My guards follow but keep their distance and act natural as they sit on a bench nearby. It’s been awhile since I have been out here and the plants appear to be
Maliyah “Well, like I said my story isn’t a happy one either. I lived as a rogue since birth. My parents were always on the move, never settling down in one place. My childhood wasn’t all bad but everything changed the day we were captured by this warlock. I think his name was Thomas. My mother was a gifted wolf, she was like you with being able to connect with the earth and grow plants. We were kept prison with many other gifted and their families. All day, everyday we heard the screams and cries of those being tortured. When it went silent we knew the person had died. I knew it was only a matter of time before my mother was next so dad and I came up with a plan to save her.” “I’m sorry my uncle’s plans dragged your family into it.” “It’s not your fault Maliyah. There will always be evil in the world.” Luca waits to see if I have more to say before continuing. “The day we were ready to get her out of there she was picked to be next fo
Maliyah “Maliyah, are you okay,” asks mom the minute we arrive. “I’ll be fine, but we need to have a family meeting immediately, Dimitri included. Without the littles of course.” “Okay, I’ll call everyone. Is everything okay?” “No mom, it’s not.” Mom takes me seriously and begins mind linking family to come to the house as soon as possible. I pace the living room anxiously as family arrives one by one. They can all tell I am scared but Aspen tells them to give me space since I am already freaking out. The last to arrive are dad and uncle Mark who fill everyone in on what happened at my apartment. Even showing mom the note left on my pillow. “Alright Maliyah, everyone is here. Are you okay to talk,” asks Aspen as he takes my hand to stop me from pacing. I nod my head at him an
Maliyah“Maliyah!”“Aspen,” I reply weakly.“You’re okay. I’ve got you. Derek!”I cough up the dirt I inhaled when the roof collapsed on me and my sister. I can feel Aspen using his healing abilities on me and feel my strength returning to me. I look to my left and see Malayah unconscious.“Malayah!”I rush to her side and shake her, hoping to see her eyes flutter open. She is out cold but thankfully doesn’t appear to be injured badly.“Where is Enzo,” asks my father.“I think I killed him. He attacked us as we reached the exit and I think I killed him. The ceiling collapsed and I lost sight of him.”“Okay, we need to get you two out of here.”Dad grabs Malayah and head
