Chapter 11 (Part Two)

“Jackson, she’s your mother.” His father broke him from his thoughts.

“She never acted like one.” He returned as he stood up from the chair. “You were all I had.” He said just before leaving.

He spent the next few days ignoring calls from his father and mother. He didn’t hear much from Riley. It was a few texts then all of a sudden they stopped. He kept himself busy with paperwork trying hard not to think about the last few days that had him bothered. He really just wanted to talk to Riley but her phone was just going straight to voicemail, he was beginning to think that maybe it was just a fling for her.

He glanced out the window, wondering if maybe he did something, or said something wrong when finally his phone rang. He smiled at the caller I.D.

“Hey Darlin’. I haven’t heard from you in a few days.”

“I broke my phone, I had to get a new one, it took a while to get here
