Chapter 7 (Part One)

Riley woke up to her phone ringing on the bedside table. Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, she answered it, rushing into her living room area, quietly closing the door so she didn’t wake Jackson.

“Hi mom.” She answered.

“Ry, Baby.” She instantly felt disgusted at the voice on the other line.

“Gerard, what are you doing with my mother’s phone?” She questioned, irritation ringing in her voice.

“Well we were just here, discussing terms of our contracts and whatnot, but don’t worry babe, we’ve renewed them, even with the silly idea of your nightclub.”  His voice alone aggravated her to no end.

“Gerard why are you calling me?” She demanded.

“Well, babe, you changed your number, so I took the opportunity when your mother left her phone unattended in her office. Anyways, I hear you are coming back to Manhattan soon, we should get together and start talki
