Refusing to let her walk he carried her the rest of the way like she weighed nothing—which was a good thing because Lyra spent the next thirty minutes basking in his expensive cologne with a mix of hickory and spice.

Arriving back home he carried her straight to his room, dropped her down on the bed before tucking her in nicely.

"I really should be going to my room now," Lyra muttered when a shade of scarlet singed her cheeks at his unwavering stare.

"No." He whispered fiercely, "you'll sleep in my room tonight,"

"But—"she attempted to protest and he cut her off.

"—say no more. I've decided."

With that he peeled off the blood—stained T-shirt and pants he had on, walking into the jaccuzi he turned on the water, letting it cascade down his body whilst he vigorously washed off the dried blood.

Few seconds later he returned in a red rob
