MIRACLE POV
The moment I saw that hybrid, a memory flashed in my mind. It didn’t take me more than a moment to recognize that man as the rogue who attacked me and my brother along with 19 others.
I can forget everything but I will never forget their faces. It seemed like I have forgotten the way they smelled but now I remember, vividly.
They were those same odd hybrids who attacked us for no apparent reason. That man had pulled out the pendant on that day, but Matthew had asked me to not look at it.
‘ Mira. Don’t look at the pendant. ’ That’s what he had screamed at me through the mindlink.
I was confused, angry, hurt. I committed a mistake. After hearing those insults thrown at me by the Oracle Amanda, I stormed out, shifted and ran away. Matthew had followed me even when I crossed our border, our safe zone.
