Chapter 26 – Horrified

Polly slept for hours and it was already dark outside when she was startled awake by a scream and smashing of things. She scrambled off the bed, hiding in a corner beside it. Her heart thudded against her chest as she tried to make sense of what’s happening. It took her a while to remember she’s in Jared’s room, in Blood Moon. And it was Jared thrashing the room, yelling every few minutes. She winced every time something gets broken. She was terrified, afraid of him, fearing for her life. She didn’t dare make a sound, biting her lip to keep herself quiet.

Seeing his eyes, they kept her frozen in place. Her senses were screaming danger, making her horrified. Her instincts told her to stay put, though. Who knows if he would target her if he sees her move? His eyes looked crazy enough and it was as if he would attack anything that he laid his eyes on.
