Jasmine’s POV:

The dim light of dawn barely filtered through the curtains as I stirred in my sleep, my eyelids heavy from the weight of tears shed throughout the long, agonizing night. My alarm clock, perched precariously on the nightstand, began its relentless assault on my ears, jolting me awake from the remnants of a restless slumber. Its shrill beeping filled the room, echoing the dissonance in my heart.

With a trembling hand, I reached out and silenced the alarm, the abrupt silence amplifying the ache in my chest. A sigh escaped my lips, laden with weariness and sorrow.

As I sat up, my body felt sluggish, as if weighed down by the accumulated burdens of my shattered dreams. Shadows danced across the walls, cast by the gentle sway of the trees outside my window.
