Misunderstood accusations

A man was seated peacefully in his wooden boat, enjoying the serenity of the sea while engrossed in a captivating book. As he turned a page, he suddenly heard a peculiar noise behind him, causing him to snap his head in that direction. Surprised, he saw no one there.

Slightly perplexed, he stood up from his seat and leaned over the edge of the boat, trying to discern the source of the mysterious sounds emanating from the water. It seemed as though someone or something was lurking beneath the surface. Before he could make sense of it, a hand suddenly emerged from the water, grabbing hold of him and yanking him into the river. Startled, he let out a yelp as he disappeared beneath the water's surface.
