Dylan narrates.

My heart was beating a thousand an hour. It's just that knowing that there was a person who came from me was the most pleasant feeling I could have; so, knowing that he was there, in that bed about to die, was the most immense pain he could feel. I did not understand why fate had insisted on making me suffer. I had already lost so much, I just hoped that God would take pity on my soul, and so I could be happy, and for that I needed and wanted that little boy to live.

With trembling hands, I approached him to take his hand, which was cold, I supposed because of the cold weather in the room. Then, I looked at his delicate face, he was wearing a blanket over his head, covering the wound he had sustained. The devices connected to it sounded in endless rhythms that hurt my soul.
