Chapter Fifty Eight

The drive home was tense and unpleasant, an uncomfortable silence that neither of them made any effort to break. Each of them was lost in their thoughts and Bella promptly faced her side of the screen.

Her thoughts were in shambles and inwardly she was berating herself, why didn't she tell him? She was presented with the opportunity to tell him everything but instead, she shied away like a coward and now, she only has herself to blame for any repercussions.

"We are home" his voice penetrated her fogged mind and she blinked as she glanced around, they were indeed home. Without saying a word to him, she stepped out of the car and had only taken a couple of steps when she was stopped on her track.

Two policemen were standing outside Daniel's house and approached them when they sighted her and Daniel. She has a strange feeling that this wasn't a cordial visit

"Mr Klaus" one of them called and Daniel raised a brow at them

"Yes, that's me, what is going on?"

The policeman turned and stared
