Chapter 24

Liam saw his father sitting casually in the living room, sipping at a glass of vodka. Liam was seething with rage, and tried all on his power to keep it in check.

His father only glanced at him, them turned back to the TV. Liam wanted to turn the TV off, but he knew that'd be worsening the issue. He sat on the edge of a sofa, and cleared his throat.

"Father, what is this I heard you did?" he said calmly.

"And what did you hear that I did?" Father and son had the choleric temperament, and each of them knew the extent to which the other could go in achieving his goals.

"You chased my wife out of my house, back to her family."

"That is not what I did." The older man reduced the volume of the TV, and turned to face his son squarely. "Whoever gave you that information is a big liar who needs to be punished."

After a confused pause, Liam asked, "What happened then? Elena isn't anywhere in this house."

"First of all, Liam, what do you see me as? Tell me. What impression do I make to you?"
