70 A Long Chatty Interaction With Chris's Mother

"Take a seat," Chris's mother said as she took her seat on one of the couches in the sitting room.

I walked forward with a small polite smile on my face before sitting down on the couch beside the couch she was sitting on. I am just to her left-hand side.

My eyes fell on the plate containing different sliced-into-bits fruits on the table and I raised a brow at it.

"Am I perhaps, interrupting your lunch?" I tried to sound as polite as I could. I hope it came out well.

"Oh no, not at all," Chris's mother replied with a smile on her face and I smiled back.

"You would not believe it," she started, calling my attention to her.

"I was carrying this out of the kitchen when I saw you and Chris having fun outside," she said, completing her sentence with a wink and my mouth went slightly agape.

I looked down at my lap as I tried to think of the right response to give. She is talking about when Chris pulled me back to kiss me.
