Chapter 4: Engagement

Chapter 4: Engagement

"You know, I can always make them go bankrupt. I mean, their businesses." Logan said coldly after I told him about my plan to publicized our wedding and make it grandiose if possible. He asked for the reason as to why do I want it publicized.

I refused to answer him at first, but when he started thinking that I probably want to keep him off from any other woman that's why I decided to publiced our wedding, I didn't have any other choice but to tell him the truth. The reason why I want it to be announced in public.

And now, Logan Achilles Sullivan just offered me a revenge scheme, and that is to make my ex boyfriend and my ex bestfriend's family business to go bankrupt.

"I will make sure that their family won't be getting any penny for betraying you." He added, but I just scoffed, slightly rolling my eyes.

It would be a great plan, actually. Calvin's family doesn't like me for being at the average rank. They don't like me because our company is at its lowest performing state right now, and they know that it will only take a few months for our company to be back in the mud again.

And Hailey's family? Oh well, they don't like me too for being a bad influence towards Hailey. Talking about dignity, respect, and shame, huh? Their Hailey girl doesn't even have that kind of attitude. She's a cheap bitch hiding in a Queen's lair. Fortunately, I know to myself that I am the Queen.

"No. That would be an easy suffering for all of them, Logan. I want them to suffer...for a longer time." I said nonchalantly while looking straight and blankly at the darkness in front of me.

"Hmm. You have a point." He put both of his hands inside his pocket. In my peripheral vision, I saw him looked at me as a smirk started to appear on his lips. "Didn't know that you're such a bad girl, huh? My bad girl..." His playful and teasing voice added, but I wasn't able to hear the last words that he said since he just whispered it together with the cold breeze of the air around.

"I'm not a bad girl, in fact, I am such a kind girl to give back what people gave me. It just happened that the two of them gave me betrayal, so I'm giving it back to them. Triple of what they did to me." I smirked and turned to him. "I'm too kind, am I?"

He smirked too and shook his head.

We stayed there for almost half an hour just talking, and before they left our house. He gave me a ring. And actually, Logan went on his knees, asking for my hand in marriage. We look like a perfect couple. Like a perfect image of a couple who has been in love with each other for a long time, and tonight was the perfect time for the guy to propose.

But I know we we're not normal. We are bind with only nothing but an arrangement. We both benefit from it. For our businesses to grow. That's just it.

The engagement ring is quite very much expensive, and when I searched it on g****e later that night. I found out that it was one of the most expensive ring in the world.

It is a Wittelsbach-Graff Diamond ring. It was in an oval cut diamond ring, and it was just not the deep blue color that stunned me. It was the price that is worth over $80 million, and it's also a 31 carat diamond ring for God's sake!

Dad was so happy seeing it on my ring finger. Of course he would be. That's not something to wonder about anymore.

The next day after shower, I was even contemplating if it was right for me to wear it. It was eye-catching and I'm worried that it will catch the attention of those people who knows nothing but evilness in their mind. And I mean the robbers.

But then, I think this is the right time to let those people know and watch how pretty my engagement ring is.

I smirked and slid my ring on my ring finger.

Sooner or later this day, a news will break out about my engagement with Logan. And I know that Calvin won't probably believe that easily, so I have to wear the only evidence for him to believe that I am really engaged with someone else.

Wearing the victorious smile on my lips, I quickly go downstairs to have my breakfast. Dad might've noticed my good mood that he asked me different questions. He even asked me stuff about where should me and Logan go for our honeymoon. I almost choke on my milk! For God's sake, I wasn't even thinking about it, and yet, Dad really had the guts to ask me that!

I shook my head as I got out of my car. I saw Adriana and Hailey waiting for me just outside the school gate...which is odd because they've never waited for me before, well that's what I always told them to. We're just gonna see each other inside the room, so waiting for me outside the school gate is no use at all. That's why they never did wait for me again.

I smiled softly at Adi who was looking at me with her adorable brown eyes. She's always have been so adorable, childish, and innocent. We became friends first before we both became friends with Hailey. In short, Hailey's the real outcast. The only virus that I wouldn't want to get infected with.

I looked at Hailey and I noticed that her eyebrows were furrowed. She looks irritated for some reason, and I so want to know what's the reason of her...sour attitude right now.

I smiled. "Hey guys. What's up? Why were you guys waiting for me—"

"What took you so long, huh?!" Hailey asked frowning, and she looks like she was just stopping herself from lashing out to me.

I pouted like an innocemt child in front of her before smiling. "I didn't know you guys would wait for me," I then, turned to Adi who was just looking at the both of us alternately. "Hi there, Adriana."

Adi's lips parted before she stretch her lips for a soft smile. "Hello, Brielle. Uhm, are you fine now?" There was a worry in her eyes as she looked at me.

I smiled and nodded. "I'm fine, Adi." I am more than fine. Now that I can finally have my revenge.

"Guessing from your attitude right now, you still don't know about the circulating news that suddenly popped out this morning." Hailey stated out coldly. I quickly turned to her, raising my right eyebrow to emphasize that I really don't know about what she's talking about.

Well, I actually have an idea already, but there's no way in hell that I will give her a clue that I already knew.

"News?" I crossed my arms. "What kind of news is that, Hail?"

And I wanted to laugh evilly so bad after seeing her now getting more angry at me. Oh. Is she jealous or envious that I am getting married with a billionaire? She didn't expect how the tables had turn, huh?

"News about you getting married to a billionaire is circulating around the internet just this morning! Calvin found out and he lashed out to me! He was fucking angry at me for not knowing about that fucking engagement beforehand! He told me I was such a useless best friend!"

My mouth formed an 'o' shape. Adi quickly stood beside me like she will protect me if Hailey gets too...uncontrollable. Like a starved dog getting ready to eat her very first meal. Yeah. That's what Hailey is. She's always starving for attention, and unfortunately, she starved for my boyfriend too. Which is already my ex boyfriend, by the way.

"He was so angry with me!" She added, getting more frustrated with the fact that her lover is angry with her and not me. Hailey pointed at me with her disgusted face. She looks like she would cry any moment now, and I badly want to take a video of her face right now. It looks hilarious. "You cheated on him, and he's venting it all to me! You should've break up with him if you'll just—"

"And give you a chance to leech in?" I sneered at her.

Her eyes widened. "What?! What are you talking about—"

"Nevermind, Hailey. Don't worry about him getting angry at you. I'll explain to him, alright? Chill, okay? You're getting stressed about it, and you're way more too obviois already." I said. I want her to play better. In that way, things would be more... exciting than it already is.
