24. Bare to his eyes

Roseline's POV

The hands on my shoulder assured me that I was not alone. There is someone around. The sudden rush of panic that had consumed me began to ebb away, replaced by a glimmer of hope and familiarity.

But as soon as I got relieved, I felt a surge of fear and uncertainty the next second.

"Calm down, it's me." I got the answer as soon as the question popped into my head.

I don't need to ask who it is, as his voice has been haunting me since we have met but for the first time, his voice felt soothing and relaxing. I was not in my senses and didn't know when I jumped on him and hugged him tightly, as if my life depended on him.

My heart was thumping loudly in my chest and as I placed my ear on his chest I could hear his heart beating in the same rhythm as mine. My eyes closed on their own as his hand started rubbing my back, cooing nothing sweet in my ear.
