Chapter Sixty

Brody's POV

We all sat at the dining table ignoring one another. No one said a word and I squeezed Karen's hands reassuringly.

"Good morning," Helen greeted and paused when she saw Karen. She took her plate and walked into her room. I knew she didn't want to eat on the same table with my wife.

I didn't want Karen to feel bad but it was like she already did. She dropped her fork and stood up. "You shouldn't get annoyed unnecessarily." My dad told her.

She ignored him and walked out of the house. "You shouldn't have said a word to her." I said.

He dropped the fork on the table obviously annoyed by my statement. "Both of you were wrong and you should admit it. You lied to all of us and we can't forgive you." He replied and stood up. 

"I've lost my appetite." I also dropped my fork on the dining table and walked out of the house.

Karen was sitting alone near the pool when I found her. "Do you swim?" She asked slowly.
