We Met Again

Kylie's P. O. V

How could it be possible? How can he be here, standing in front of me? The world suddenly stopped moving under me from the moment I saw him. It can't be him after all this year. But my eyes cannot lie to me. It is Sebastian, my ex-boyfriend, who is currently talking with Mr. Sterling junior, my current boss. Though many things changed in him I can still remember every single thing about him. I have been seeing this man every night in my dreams. But the man in front of me was nothing like the Sebastian I used to know four years ago. The Sebastian I knew before had always a happy aura around him and a boyish smile plastered on his face. But the man standing with my boss has a cold aura around him and there is no sign of a smile on his face. Suddenly both of them turned around and our eyes met for the first time in four years. He also seemed a bit taken aback after seeing me here. It was sure he didn't expect me here. After looking at me for a couple of minutes the surprise in his eyes was replaced with a cold stare. He looked away from me to Mr. Sterling.

"Won't you introduce me to the employees of this floor?" Sebastian stoically asked Mr. Sterling.

"Of course Mr. Smith please come with me," Mr. Sterling then walked up to us where we all were standing in a line to be introduced to our new CEO. "Meet your new CEO Mr. Sebastian Smith the CEO of Smith Industries." he addressed all fourteen of us. "Mr. Smith these are the fourteen staffs who work on the Executive floor and will be following your orders and working with you from now on. Please come with me I will introduce them to you one by one." saying that Mr. Sterling took him to the other end of the line. I heaved a sigh as I was standing at the end of the line. Cindy noticed my uneasiness and leaned closer to me.

"Are you feeling okay? You are looking pale as a paper," she commented more like mocked me.

"I am having a stomachache," I lied to her. Couldn't find a better excuse for my uneasiness. I looked at my other coworkers. They were busy introducing and greeting our new CEO. The line was coming to an end soon it will be my turn. I closed my eyes to control the nervousness inside me and heard Mr. Sterling introducing Cindy. My heart skipped a bit, next is my turn.

"Mr. Smith this is Cindy Parker, she will be your assistant from now on," said Mr. Sterling. I opened my eyes and looked at them. Cindy extended her hand with her signature smile.

"Welcome to Star Advertisement Mr. Smith. It will be a pleasure working under you," she said in her sweet voice while shaking her hand with him. He just nodded to her with his cold face. Then turned to me and we stood face to face. I can see his face closely now. His perfect jawline, perfect long nose, perfect blue eyes, and thick brows. Everything was the same as before with more maturity in them.

"She will be your personal secretary in Star Adv. from now on," I got back to reality after hearing Mr. Sterling's words. Only then did I realize that I was staring at him all this time. I cleared my throat and looked away from him. Mr. Sterling continued, "This is Kylie Johnson....," Mr. Sterling was about to say something more but Sebastian stopped him by raising his hand.

"We know each other well," he said and I snapped at him and realized he was staring at me intently. "What a pleasant surprise we met again," saying that he pulled me into a hug. I stiffened as soon as our bodies touched. His familiar masculine scent hit my nostrils and made my whole body paralyzed for a moment. He pulled away and looked at me with a smile that was so different from his carefree smile. It was more like a warning before a great storm. I realized I was silent all the time and everyone was waiting for my reply. I straightened my body and put on a professional smile.

"Good to meet you too Mr. Sebastian," I replied professionally. I can't trust him after what he did with me four years ago. I have to put on my guards around him.

"You said you know Kylie, how do you know her?" Cindy asked out of the blue. I cursed her in my mind and glared at her so that she can control her gossip addiction just for once. But Sebastian seemed very happy about her question he gave me a meaningful smirk and opened his mouth, "She was my.." he stopped after saying those words and looked at me for my reaction. I can't possibly let him spill our past in front of all of my colleagues. I will be the center of their gossip for the whole year if they knew the truth. So I finished his sentence. "Junior, I was his junior in college later I transferred from there," I explained with a smile. Everyone seemed to accept my lie except for two-person. One was Sebastian who knew the exact truth and another was Cindy my best friend who was staring at me like she knew I was lying.

"It is a plus point then, Mr. Smith. Kylie can show you around and help you to get to know the company better. So I will take my leave now. Kylie will show you to your office," Mr. Sterling exclaimed and left after bidding goodbye to all of us. I was standing there like a statue and thinking about the possibility of finding another job as soon as possible.

"Won't you show me my new office, Miss Johnson?" he said with a smile like an angel. I didn't have any other choice than to lead him to the CEO's office. I opened the door for him and he followed me with a smile. After showing him around his new office I was about to leave him alone when he made me stop by pulling my hand. I couldn't control my balance and collided with his hard-muscled chest. He grabbed my chin so hard that it started to pain but he didn't loosen his grip. He leaned closer to me and whispered in my ear in a cold but dangerous tone

"Where do you think you are going? I found you after four years. I will make sure this time you couldn't leave. I will make your life a living hell, Kylie Johnson. You will curse your fate every day that you met me again in this life." he then pushed me aggressively and my body hit the wall. I winced in pain. "Welcome to hell Kylie, this is just the beginning."

I stiffened at his cold tone and couldn't find an answer what have I done to him? It was he who betrayed me four years ago. Then why is he behaving like I was the reason for all this?
