Chapter 40

Lucy's POV;

Sweating woke me up from my sleep in the middle of the night and I couldn’t fall back asleep. I rolled out of bed and grabbed my phone off my dresser to see if Tyler was awake. After a moment I realised it was still dark outside and that no one else would be awake. When i checked the time it was nearly four AM.

I groaned and got out of bed to go down stairs. I needed some water. I didn't realise how tired I was until I had drunk almost all of it. Once I finished with that I grabbed a couple granola bars and headed for the kitchen.

As I sat at the kitchen table sipping on a glass of juice, my mind wandered to what had woken me up. It felt like someone was watching me, but I knew there wasn’t anyone there. Then it occurred to me that maybe that was just my paranoia talking and I put my glass down. The doorbell rang and startled me. I looked around wondering who could have possibly been here this late.
