The Seductress

“You—” Naomi’s eyes widened in shock, the muscles of her jaw twitched as she looked at Fiona. “You are—”

“Thank God, you’re fine!” Luca said before pulling Fiona into a tight hug, something that surprised the women in the room.

“Of course, I’m fine.” Fiona smiled and gave Naomi a meaningful gaze. Naomi’s already pale face turned paler. It looked like a sheet of paper. “Did something happen? I just finished familiarizing myself at the storage in the basement.”

Luca looked at Naomi. “That is not a part of the job. What were you doing in the basement?”

“She asked me to sort out the letters?”

“You will be working inside my office, not in the basement.” Luca narrowed his eyes at Naomi. “Isn’t that right, Miss Jiang?”

“I—I just thought it would good to let her familiarize herself with—”

“In the basement?” Luca interrupted. “Before you started… Did I ask you to visit the basement?”

“I—”

“It’s fine… Mr. Han. I’m sure Miss Jiang just got confused.” A beautiful smile was on Fiona’s face. “Maybe she should go and see the doctor? How about giving her a leave? I think she is working so hard, it is making her head hurt.”

“That’s not true.”

“Really?” Fiona asked. “Your face is really pale, though. Don’t you agree with me, Mr. Han? Perhaps… a week’s leave is sufficient enough to make you recover.”

“You—”

“I agree with Miss Chen. Miss Jiang, you should take some days off. You look really tired and stressed. Maybe that was the reason why you got confused.”

“Mr. Han… please don’t listen to her. This is—”

“Please finish your task for today and send my schedule via email. Tomorrow, Miss Chen shall handle my schedule. Have a good rest, Miss Jiang.” A smile appeared on his face before he strode out of the room, leaving the two women behind.

“Are you happy now?”

“Happy?” Fiona asked. “Do you think I am as shallow as you? Really, Miss Jiang? Locking someone in a room was just too juvenile. I almost mistook you as a high school bully. Or Maybe… your brain is really on that level. Nevertheless… I am not happy.”

“You—”

“Remember… you started this.” After she finished speaking, Fiona walked out of the room and went to see Luca in his office.

“She is someone planted by my uncle,” Luca said just as she sat opposite him. She eyed his name on the metal name plate. Luca Han, CEO of Han Interiors and Construction International. It had a nice little tone to it. In fact, she quite liked it. She also liked the intricate carvings next to his name. It matched the painting near the sofa just a few steps away from them. “I can’t just fire her even if I want to. My uncle owns twenty percent of the company.”

“How about you?” Fiona asked.

“I owned twenty, too.”

She squinted. Would it help him if she tells him that she already asked Candy to buy at least five percent of the shares? After all, they were already married. However, she decided not to say anything. At least not for now.

Moreover, she also wanted to buy more shares.

“They wanted me to marry her. She is overqualified for the job. But she came here to try to get close to me.”

“She’s alright. Why not just marry her?”

He scoffed. “Did you just ask me why I don’t like her after what she did?”

“She likes you. She felt threatened. Totally normal response from a woman.”

He stared at her, flabbergasted. “What kind of women were you working with in the US?”

She chuckled. “Naomi tried to lock me in the basement.”

The smile on Luca’s face vanished. “How’d you get out?”

“Secret.” She winked at him. “But she was a little dumb. If you wanted a woman to marry, she would have been perfect for the job.” Fiona laughed. Inside she already knew the reason why Luca didn’t want to marry Naomi, and that was because of her strong background.

Naomi seemed close with Luca’s uncle, and marrying her would only complicate things.

Luca decided not to force her into saying anything. He stared at her, his face devoid of any emotion. “My family will not hesitate to scheme against you when they realize you are a threat.”

“Geez… thanks for telling me now that we are married.” It was her job to survive, and so she will. “But there is no need to worry about anything. I can assure you that I wILL survive.” And keep him safe. She smiled.

“Well… you already met my crazy secretary. Let me take you to meet my grandfather.”

“Now?” she asked.

“He’s dying. I already told him that we got married. He knows your real identity by now… he must already know everything about you.”

Fiona forced a smile as she nodded. Her Chen Family was wicked but for some reason, she felt that the Han Family was more evil than the Chen’s?

After a few minutes, the two left the office just as Naomi left the clinic inside the office. By now, the rumors about the new ‘hot’ secretary slapping Miss Naomi Jiang already spread in every corner of the building.

‘I heard she made Mr. Han yell at Miss Naomi? Then she forced him to give her a leave?’

‘How is that possible? Mr. Han is not someone who can easily be persuaded by a woman!’

‘Well… I heard she was very beautiful? Maybe…’

‘Beautiful? But Miss Naomi is beautiful and smart! How could someone match Miss Naomi?’

‘Miss Naomi was raised in a good family. Who knows what type of woman this Fiona Chen is?’

‘Ai. At the end of the day, the seductress will always win against the prim and proper, ah. The world is really not fair!’

Hearing the people around her starting to whisper about the matter, Naomi’s lips lifted into an evil smirk as she lowered her head. She wanted to see how long will that Fiona survive when everyone around her knew that she was scheming even before she started working.
