Chapter 49

The atmosphere at the dining table was only filled with the clinking of plates, spoons, and forks. There was no conversation. No small talk between the two adults sitting with a toddler. They both had a bad mood, except for Nora who remained cheerful while watching her favorite cartoons on her gadget. The child, who had been sick all week, was now refreshed and had regained her normal appetite. Her pale face had a beautiful rosy glow, and she never stopped babbling except when she was chewing.

Nora devoured her favorite lu rou fan or beef braised rice bowl. They were having dinner at a fine dining Chinese restaurant in London. It was a special treat after spending the whole day in meetings. They had returned to London after spending three days and two nights at Disneyland Paris, and resumed their schedule as planned.
