SAAFIA’S POVAfter Dariel left for work, I spent my time by using my phone, talking to Sarah, disturbing her during her work and was reading a book to pass my time, humming to myself.I was engrossed in my book until I heard the sound of a yawn. Shit, I forgot Dariel's cousin was here too. He was in his casual trousers and shirt, scattered hair and waved his hand at me. “Hey, Morning.” “Hey.” Smiling faintly, I waved back, getting up. He truly looked scary whenever he was not smiling but no doubt his grin was soothing. “Are you an early riser? I bet Dariel must have left for work.” He asked, ruffling his hair while looking around with his hand in his pockets.“Yes he did. And I was not an early riser but following Dariel’s routine, I became one too.” I smiled sheepishly.“Did he make you?” He questioned, arching an eyebrow with a teasing smirk.I chuckled, shaking my head in denial, “No, I did it sincerely. I love spending the smallest moments with him.”Unaware what happened to m
DARIEL’S POVI held a grimace on my face while she was talking at the dinner table with Helder who was also laughing with her and the sound of it was pricking me.Exhaling to hide my frustration, I leaned back on my seat and placed my hand over her shoulder, keeping her close to me at least while having no idea what was so funny about it- Maybe because I was more focused on her than their talks.“I didn’t know he was so funny.” She chuckled, placing her hand over mine.“Hmm.”The urge to make her laugh like he did evoke in me. I didn’t make her laugh like this and it pricked me. Narrowing my eyes, I kept my eyes locked on her.“What happened? Why are you silent?” Helder asked, breaking my rhythm. Blinking, I regained my thoughts and forced out a smile, “Huh? Nothing.”Upon seeing my reaction, Helder smirked, resting his elbow on the table while teasing me. “Don’t worry, I will leave tomorrow. You guys can live your lives peacefully then, I know I must have troubled you guys a lot.”
DARIEL’S POVThe next morning, I held a grin on my face while getting ready for my work, smirking at my wife who looked absolutely gorgeous in my shirt and her jeans.“So, you are so happy now? He is leaving today.” She giggled, taking my tie and wrapping it around her hand before moving it behind my head to bring our faces closer.“You have eradicated my concern using another way already.” I smirked, taking my tie and securing it properly. “Hey.” “I guess my heart is possessive over you, not too much, a little, you know? Just a tiny bit.” I smirked, showing her a pinch though it was much higher than that.“Yes, I can see it.” She giggled, poking my cheek and hearing me wear my coat as I was ready to leave for work.Wrapping my hand around her shoulder, I pressed my beloved near my chest, looking at her in mesmerization, not wanting to affix these eyes elsewhere as I asked nonchalantly.“Is your throat hurting?”“No. Why?” I winked, “I will make it, tonight.”“Enough.” She giggled
SAAFIA’S POV:-Hugging my knees close to my chest, I was silently sobbing. My chest felt heavy when they took my Dariel like this. Refusing to listen to anyone, I was in the room with Sarah and Helder to console me.“Why are you crying? You are acting as if they placed a wrong allegation. We all know he did this to them.” Sarah sighed, frowning at my constant weeping. Glaring at her, puffing I looked away angrily, not talking to her too. She couldn’t understand. “But, don’t say this so harshly, Ms. Blooms. She is already tense.” At least Helder defended me, offering me a glass of water.Wiping my tears, I drank some water to calm my senses, “Dariel…” But, I needed him with me. Frowning, My grip on the glass and I didn’t know what happened to me. Knowing that Dariel was at fault, he did this to them, yet I spoke- “What happened to them is their fault. He did the right thing.”“Seriously, Saafia? You are defending him?” Sarah gasped, not believing when I, who always forgave everyon
JARED’S POVMy mind was bursting from distress, gritting my teeth when it was late again and Veronica was nowhere to be found. My mind was already overflowing with rage.‘How could you do this, Veronica? What is wrong with you? Why are you interfering in their lives?’ I thought worriedly, rubbing my temples in stress until she finally came.I was in a messy form, loose tie and roughly rolled sleeves as I rose from my seat when she came.“Where were you?” I asked strictly, glaring at her but she remained unaffected and began to take off her jewelry.“I was busy. I had work.”“I believe I told you we were cutting all connections with Dariel and Saafia.” I frowned, resting my hands in my pockets.“So?” She shrugged her shoulders. My jaw clenched as I held her arm, turning her to me with disappointment coming to my face.“Then why the hell are you trying to be involved in their lives and filing a case against Dariel?” I asked in a low tone but hissing, she pushed herself away from me.“I
After Veronica left, I felt an unbearable sting. The regret began to eat me up. I started hating myself for my horrible actions.I knew this was the result of my actions and to save whatever I could, I decided to meet Sam so I could convince him to take back the case at least.“I would like to meet Sam.”“Sir is not present but he will be here soon.”I sat for a few minutes but there was no sign of Sam, “Excuse me, can I go to the restroom?”“Sure.” I was following a maid to leave for the bathroom until I heard a whimpering coming from a room. Stopping in my tracks, I was astounded to wonder who was sobbing with muffled sounds. “What is that-”“Nothing.”The maid shook her head in dread, narrowing my eyes, I was intrigued to see who it was and gave her some money.“Let me see.” I demanded. She gulped, nodding slowly and led me near the room. Bewildered, the second I opened the room, I saw Dariel’s sister tied on the bed with her tears smeared across her cheeks and a covered mouth.“
SAAFIA’S POV:-After meeting Dariel, I was in a state of daze, my mind failed to grasp how comfortable he was in the prison while I was sobbing all this time for him.“Seriously? He is used to it?” I frowned while telling Helder and Sarah how monotonous he was behaving like it meant nothing to him.“Yeah, not the first time he was arrested. He had made people he resent pay for it badly. I am also one of them.” Helder shrugged his shoulders, chuckling at my puff.“What did he do to you?” “He ripped our business from us until we were forced to leave the country.” He spoke calmly, leaning back on his seat. Oh, I almost forgot they were enemies. “I know nothing about you guys' hatred so I can’t say anything.” I trailed off, exchanging a glance with Sarah who nodded. I had no rights to meddle in their past hostility. “Hmm.”“But he was being so nonchalant about everything and said he will be home.” I continued my series of complaints. “Like, Helder, what? How normal could one act while
DARIEL’S POV:-I was still in the prison with a never ending grimace on my face. I wanted to get out but the process was being delayed, testing my low patience.I had to be out before the news went to the media and they ravaged the image I cleared after a painfully long time. “Sir, no one is willing to take the place. Each one we could possibly refuse.”People had stopped seeing me as an arrogant bastard thanks to my wife, I had changed a lot too and I wanted it to remain like this but circumstances were challenging my goodwill.“And why is that?” I growled, glaring at Ian who looked down.“Apparently someone paid them double the amount, they are weirdly refusing.” He spoke worriedly, fearing my rage. My jaw clenched, hitting the wall from distress.“Couldn’t be Sam, as if he has that much money. Someone else must be funding that bastard but who? Which of my rivals had grown this overconfidence to test me?”Shrinking my eyes, I fell into a deep pondering. Sam was not capable of doing
