“So, how is life treating you in Chicago?”

I shrug as I look out at the breathtaking landscape before me.

“It’s ok. A bit lonely, sometimes.” Taking a sip from my cup, I lay my hand on Ginevra’s which is squeezing my leg soothingly.

“Sorry about that, babes.” She says, wrinkling her nose. “Have you thought about moving back to New York?”

Swinging around the remaining coffee in my cup, I frown. “Constantly.”

She clicks her tongue feeling pity for me and hugs me, making it hard for me to fight my tears.

“But nothing is waiting for me there,” I whisper, burying my face in her sweater.

As she holds my shoulders to push me from her, she tilts her head. “What if I come over occasionally? So, you won’t feel lonely?”

I laugh at her cute offer but shake my head. “I can’t accept that. You have a life too. And I can’t act like a baby and be a burden to you.”
