Dear readers I modified the previous chapter. Kindly read it 😊
Janice winced as she came awake. She rolled to her side and noticed Jules was at the other side of the room with a notebook in his hand. She recognised the book instantly because it was part of the books the doctor had given her to read about childbirth. Janice moaned as she attempted to lift herself to a sitting position. Jules's eyes flitted to her when he heard her moan, and he stood from the chair he had been on for almost two hours since she was out. "How are you feeling?" "I feel like I just ate something sour." Janice winced. Jules nodded, "That is because you have a fever." "A fever?" She asked. She couldn't remember the last time she had a fever. Even when she began suffering from morning sickness the first time, she had thought it was the flu she was suffering from until Jules forced her to go to the doctor. "It's been a while since I had that." She groaned, rolling to her side. "It's my fault," Jules mumbled. Janice stared at him, "How is it your fault?" "I let y
It was noon when she awoke again. The fever became worse than earlier and she could barely lift her hands or any part of her body. Her taste bud was bitter and nausea danced around in her throat. She winced whilst attempting to shield the light that was streaming into the room from the opened window with her hand. Her body trembled, then she tugged the blanket she barely used when she was healthy to cover herself up to her chin. She wondered if this was how she often felt whenever she had a fever. But, she couldn't remember the last time she had been this ill. Nevertheless, she was aware she hadn't been this worse and down with fever.
"Quit doing that, that is total blackmail! You know I can't resist that look." Janice glared whilst staring at Bessie who still had the 'puppy eyes' look on."Okay fine!" She huffed, then climbed down from the bed slowly. She waddled towards the closet and tossed her robe on."You know it's weird to see you talking to it. I mean, it can't understand whatever you say but you make it look like it does." Margie said whilst staring at the little creature that was sprawled beside the pillow.Janice shrugged as she tied the belt of the robe around her, "I feel connected to it. Even though we can barely say a word to one another, I think we understand each other. Don't we Bessie?"The puppy leapt on the bed, yapped, and wa
"Okay, how about you spill the tea? We're just going in circles here, and I have zero patience for that," Maggie said, frustration noticeable in her voice."Are you willing to tell me or not? It feels like you're purposefully stalling," she glared at Janice."Of course, I want to tell you," Janice affirmed, rolling her eyes. She took a deep breath, trying to gather her thoughts on where to begin."You can start from the end if you want," Maggie urged. "I just need to know what's going on between you two. This marriage is starting to look like a joke to me.""Maybe it is," Janice mumbled. She had considered this many times, and it was the conclusion she had arrived at. She felt like a mere amusement to Jules and his manipulations. He used her as he pleased, pretending to care when he never did and never would. It had always been about the baby from the beginning and would continue to be.Janice considered pulling the same stunt she had before, but she knew it would only bring her more t
It was midnight when the first wave of contraction hit her.Janice had ignored the previous one as she thought it was a minor pain and had tried to sleep through it.But then, it came back stronger. It was then, she realized she was going into labour. She thought she was some days away from it because she often checked the calendar. She was certain she hadn't missed anything. Even Jules wasn't around yet and the thought of having a child without him being present made her panic."I am not prepared." She mumbled. Her hand went through her dishevelled hair and she let out a breath through her mouth whilst she waddled towards where her robe was hung.
Janice groaned, she clenched the duvet that was wrapped around her lower midsection, shut her eyes and gritted her teeth before puffing out a breath. Her nostrils flared and her back ached from laying on the bed since the contraction began."Someone should get this out of me!" Janice arched her back and sweat dribbled down her forehead."My lady, you'll be fine," Grace assured, wiping the sweat off her face."I doubt that." She gasped out.She added when the pain lessened, "I need Jules. I don't care wherever he is, I need him right now!"She bit down on her lower lips hard, enough for it to draw b
It was exactly two hours after Jules landed and Janice was a bit relieved that not only had the pain in her tummy and lower back lessened, but she could move around the room as well, without feeling like she was going to be ripped into two. The only restriction she had was that she couldn't go a long distance, but it was better than being confined to the bed. “How about you take a cold shower to help with the pain?’’ Jules asked, whilst Janice fanned herself. She nodded without hesitation and allowed him to help her out of the bed. Stripping down to nothing, she stepped into the bathtub and let out a sigh as the warm water caressed her delicate skin. Janice eyed Jules from the corner of her eyes as she noticed him watching her from the d
"May I?"Janice nodded as Jules pointed to her chest. She turned, and showed her back to him, to help her undo the hooks of her brassiere. She breathed out as her ample breasts bounced free from the restraint. She rolled her eyes as she noticed Jules’ eyes on them and glimpsed him licking his lips slowly."Don't." She mumbled."Don't what?" A grin plastered on his face, "I said nothing.""I know and I am aware of what you are about to say." She mumbled, grabbing her son who was squirming in his cot.Jules shrugged, "I doubt that."
