I opened my eyes to vernal sunlight, filtered through the dead leaves. The grassy field was just a few feets away from the riverbank. The sun was warm on my face and the insects hummed around me. With a yawn, I looked up and saw small fluffy clouds of dust dancing across the sky. And then I realized that I was not dreaming, that I was really, truly alive. I woke up to a beautiful sun setting on a blue starry sky. And with a gasp, I saw that I was naked when I looked down to my thighs. Screaming to grab my clothes, I realized that I had been tied to a tree. For a moment I stood in total shock. Then panic began to set in as I struggled to get untied.
Realizing I was alone, and that no one would hear me through the dense forest of tall dead trees, I turned around and frantically scanned the landscape for someone, anyone who could help. I turned to the west and for the next several minutes, as I
"Get the fuck out of my way you jerk! Do not bother explaining anything to me, I don't give a fuck about you anymore..! I hate you!!!""It's not what you think Cilia, I was caged!""And what's my fucking business if you were caged? Like I said, I don't give a fuck about you anymore! Get lost and burn in hell for all I care!" I spat. I was even surprised I could utter a word, for there was not even a single strength left in me."I couldn't have left you to suffer like that, Cilia; I was lucked up in a cage, using a magical spell from a witch. I looked for a way to come to your aid, but couldn't find any. But that doesn't matter anymore, I'm here now.""So you expect me to believe such crap?! And who cares if yo
"What could this mean?" Ben said, lifting it from the whole."Hold on! Hold on Ben, I think there's something more in there!" Sam jerked, checking the hole with his hands. He couldn't see why it clearly while it was in there, and he had to expand the hole some more."Wow! Come check it out Ben, it's a glass container with a lid."Yeah, go ahead, let's open it!"Ben leaned forward with a quick yell. Sam turned with a puzzled expression. Ben was about to open the container, but he wasn't sure why. After a couple of seconds, his eyes widened as he stared down at the crystal glass container. There was a single yellowish light inside of it. It was an almost steady orange glow. As Sam looked at the conta
With the fire ball still tightly and heavily wrapped in the cotton cloth, it's glow couldn't be seen. Sometimes it doesn't seem like you're gonna make it out alive in some situations, I battled between life and death."Where is the ball of fire you stole?" Alpha Silver slammed, shaking the cage with his heavy boots.Sam released a gaze at Ben, who stared blankly at Alpha Silver, understanding his question. Sam has less life in him now than he had when he lifted Cilia up the other time."I'm asking you, bastards! Where is the fireball you stole?" He chuckled, observing their mood. "If I ask that question again, I promise that one of your heads would go for an answer!" He spat, and the shock on the faces of Sam and Ben turned into grimaces of shock. He smirked, his
The sound of the alarm clock went off, a little groan was heard as the ray of sunlight which passed through an open window brightened the large room.Cassandra, a mid thirty woman with blonde hair opened her eyes, her gaze fixed to the ceiling before her. She yawned, turned to her other side of the bed and picked up her phone, her sharp blue eyes on some messages which were sent a couple of hours ago. With a frown on her face, she sat up from her bed, her fingers selling through her phone and at once, it beeped reminding her that her daily routine had just begun. She glanced at the wall clock next to her, it's exactly 7 am and she has to be at her office by 9 am but first, her workout will not be abandoned. Cassandra got out of bed with her phone placed in front of her, with a hurry, she scrolled through the screen, her e
Cassandraa quickly walked towards the elevator, she glanced at her wrist watch, a frown rested on her face because she is five minutes late for the meeting. As soon as she got out of the elevator, her workers quickly got to work as fast as they could because no one wanted to get into any problem with her.Ignoring them, she walked into another elevator, pressed the fifth floor button and the elevator quickly took her straight to her destination. Cassandra quickly got out of it, adjusted her gown and headed towards the meeting office which was a few feet from the elevator."I am so sorry that I am late" she said as she walked into the room, got to her seat, her face fixed on Mr Simon and slowly on his officials present."It's good you are here anyway" Mr Sim
The following day, Cassandra went to work early just to avoid such lateness like the previous day. As soon as she walked into the building, all her workers rushed to their seats of work and they all avoided her gaze because none of them wanted to get fired.Cassandra got out of the elevator and walked down the hallway that leads to her office. As she got closer, she saw some women sitting comfortably on a sofa kept for visitors. She ignored them and walked into her office which was not far away from where they sat.As soon as she got seated, her secretary walked into her office with her hand filled with files."Ma'am" she let out, her eyes fixed on Cassandra who placed her bag comfortably on her bag rack. She turned her attention to the brunette wondering w
"You let a man come into this institution to apply for such a position when you know clearly that it is only women that have been in this position for years," Cassandra said to Jasmine, not hiding her disappointment.Jasmine, who feared that she would eat fire, was at the edge of leaving out tears, "I'm very sorry Ma, it just slipped off my mind" she begged feeling very downcast as she wondered what her fate might be.Not knowing what to say, Cassandra rested her head on her chair, her gaze fixed on the ceiling. Right now, she is at an immediate meeting, a man has never applied for this position before and she hopes that this man fails the interview so that she can find a way of letting him out of the company. She looked down at Jasmine who was still at her knees beggi
Cassandra still couldn't believe that she employed a man into such a job. Well, right now isn't a time for her to think about anything else but to test his skill, if she should notice any bad character in him, she won't think twice but fire him with immediate effect. The next day, she got to work, as she walked into her company, Dennis walked towards her, his hands filled with files but Cassandra didn't look at him, her pace still fixed on her destination."Ma'am, the LAX company sent an email through the company's mail box" he said walking very fast as he didn't want to be left behind, they both got into the elevator and Cassandra stood still, not a friendly look could be seen on her face."What do they need?" She asked. Dennis quickly pressed the fifth fl
