2. The twin sisters

Violet Miller's eyes were still on the text in the book she was reading when the plane landed. She was stuffing the book into a leather shoulder bag she was carrying when an announcement from a flight attendant sounded.

Violet looked out of the plane window. She got off the plane and headed for the airport. The seats provided were full, and rows of people were waiting to welcome their families who had just landed.

Violet pulled her suitcase onto a red sofa. She took out her phone and tapped on her twin's contact. Press the call button.

According to their conversation on the phone before Violet flew out, Isabelle would pick her up at the airport. But once again she looked around, not seeing her twin anywhere.

Violet removed the scarf that was wrapped around her neck. Only then did she realize she was the only person who looked like this. Nobody wears a scarf like this in a tropical country.

When she flew in from Los Angeles yesterday it was still very cold. But now sweat dripped from her temples.

After transiting at one of the airports in Jakarta and continuing the flight that will take them to their grandmother's place. To one of the countryside here.

When Violet lifted her head from the phone, someone ran up to her. Isabelle hugged Violet tightly. Violet hugged her back

"I miss you so bad" Isa said.

A year ago was the last time they saw each other. After that they only communicate via cell phone. Violet laughed. Isabelle was the same as far as she could remember. Still very pretty.

She wore highwaist leather pants and a crop top that accentuated her long legs.

"How are you? How's school? How about london?" Violet started a conversation as they walked out of the airport.

"school is fun. And london is cold these days. It's boring. There's not much to do especially without you there Vio" Isabelle grumbled.

Violet smiled, pleasant to hear this. It was as if Isabelle had missed her so much. Even though Violet knew he was just trying to be humble. Her twin is a definition of social butterfly. She has more friends and more fun. There was so much he could do even without Violet.

"Are you happy in LA?" Isa asked

Violet nodded "I guess"

When the two of them got outside, a black car with a man was waiting for them. Violet put her suitcase in the very back seat while she got into the middle seat. The driver was driving their car leaving the airport area.

They crossed the highway where vehicles passed. The traffic light and a few turns and their car entered a more shady and quiet area. Forest area.

Trees and small houses can be seen from outside the window. Isabelle focused her gaze there.

"I've been waiting for this vacation for a long time" Violet said "Tiffany said you are the most enthusiastic"

Isabelle turned "ah is she said that? She's right. I can't wait to visit grandma's house since I arrived in here"

But they are twins after all. Violet could tell something was different. Isabelle wasn't as cheerful as when she was at the airport. During the trip, she only spent time looking at the forest and trees outside.

Sometimes she would daydream and not listen when Violet spoke to him. Violet was determined they would talk about this later. As soon as they got home.

The long flight exhausted Violet. She couldn't sleep on the plane. Finally she leaned her head back against the back of the chair, and fell asleep.

Violet was woken up by Isabelle's smack on the cheek "it's time to wake up miss sleepyhead, We've arrived"

Violet blinked and rubbed her eyes before getting out of the car. She grabbed her suitcase.

Their grandmother's house was exactly what Violet remembered. It's just that now some lights are installed in the yard. And his grandmother was seen planting more flowers in the yard. From afar but clearly Violet heard the rush of the river.

In the yard his mother and sister were waiting.

Diana Miller hugged Violet tightly "Vio honey you're getting thinner" she rubbed her daughter's cheek "sounds like LA busyness doesn't suit you"

"That's the reason why I want her to continue her education here" Tiffany sneered.

Violet ignored her "where's dad? And grandma?"

"Your dad is still in Singapore. Work doesn't allow him to come now Vio, he will catch up with us the day after tomorrow if possible. Your grandmother is in the kitchen"

They enter the house. In the doorway, her grandmother greeted Violet. Violet hugged him tightly and smelled the soothing herbal scent from her.

"get some rest and take a shower first" her grandmother said "we're having a barbeque party tonight"

Tiffany pulled Violet's hand. They climbed the wooden stairs and his sister helped him carry the suitcase. Head to the top floor, where the room is located. The room that Vio used every time she visited this house.

Room with windows facing directly to the forest and the riverbank. The bed and sheets are neat. Likewise with the short table beside It.

"You tidy this up?"

Tiffany shook her head "never. Grandma did it. Likewise with my room and Isa's room. Arrange your clothes in closet sist. And come downstairs when you're ready"

Tiffany went to the door "Isa and I are going to buy some sausage and extra spicy sauce. Do you want something?"

Violet shook her head.

Tiffany shrugged "okay" she then left the room.

Violet laid her back on the bed for a moment. She grabbed her suitcase and started to organize her belongings into the cupboard. She opened the window letting fresh air in. Violet grabbed a towel and rushed to the bathroom.
