38. One Step Ahead
Velex looked at the burning town from a distance. There was no smile on his face at the destruction. It had not gone the way that he wanted at all. The wolves had shown and added support to this place that had been fighting him hard. That extra edge had stopped them from taking the town and having a foot hold down below Aries and his keep.
