It's Far From Over

After Gabe excused himself from the grill room, he walked back to the corridor that led to the stairs.

Frowning, he said. “I haven’t seen Alex this morning.” Unconsciously, he walked to the kitchen and found her at the sink. She was so engrossed in what she was doing that she didn’t notice him come in. It was either that or she just thought to pretend that she didn’t.

That didn’t matter to Gabe anyway. He walked to her and put his hands on her shoulders.

Alex jumped so badly, turning to him with her right hand wrapped in a fist. She swung it towards him but he was quick to grab her waist and stop her.

“Easy, baby. It’s just me.” He said, chuckling.

“What the heck, Gabe?” she asked him wide-eyed. “You scared the shit out of me.” She said, huffing.

He nodded his head. “I’m sorry about that. I didn’t mean to scare you. I thought you heard me come in.” he told her, an apologetic smile on his face.
