Chapter- 16

Chloe's POV

The next day I woke up as soon as I realize Marcus wasn't there by my side. I pulled back the hair that fell on my face and my back hurts so much.

I leaned back on the bed frame and looked at the window. Only one of the curtains is pulled aside, from there I could see the rain still pouring and it's grey outside. I don't know why, but I kind of like this weather.

I could hear the footsteps, and cutlery sounds outside and I breathed in relief that Marcus was here. His presence changed my mood instantly, and he gives me strength.

If he wasn't there yesterday, I would never have had the courage to wake up today. Yesterday I saw how much he cares for me even though we know each other for a very short time. Other than my parents and Lily, no one cared for me like that. Understanding my wishes and assuring that he would help me is a big thing for me, he went further and took care of me last night. I didn't feel lonely at all. He's different and that makes me want to lose my guar
