Atlas POV

She slumped in my arms as I carried her back to the house. I was on my way back to the main house when the sudden rush of danger crawled over my skin. It had led me to the castle where i saw Ares leaving but someone else was there and by the time I reached inside and found her crouched down in the corner with her breathing shallow.

Now I was at the door which I kicked open with my feet, Ares was pacing around with his hands raking through his hair. He stopped when he noticed me in the room, there was a slight discomfort in his eyes which was replaced with disdain. His eyes moved to the person cradled in my arms.

He turned to retreat, he had chosen to ignore the fact that something was back there and move on like it wasn’t a problem. It was nothing new, Ares had a way of hiding away from his problems rather than facing them head on, he might be the Alpha but his response to emotions are off the charts.
