As I stood there, my heart racing with panic, I managed to choke out the words, "Your father's warriors,"

"Yes," she replied softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Are you sure?" I asked, my voice trembling with anxiety.

Willow looked up at me, her eyes welling up with tears. She didn't need to say anything. The answer was written all over her face.

Just then I heard the sound of twigs snapping and foots stumping on the ground, my eyes widened in fear. I knew that the warriors sent by Alpha Zain were not to be trifled with. Some days earlier Alpha Rick had told me of a group of warriors destroying packs in search of us. I had thought that we still had time before we left the pack and found another place to hide, I had not told Willow hoping to avoid triggering her, but it was too late the warriors had caught up with us, and I feared that our luck was about to run out.
