Fire Ignited

Jared's POV

I sat on the ground, my leg dipped into the little pond that had formed beneath the waterfall.., I was waiting for Rachael to arrive at our secret place but she didn't seem to be forthcoming.

It had already been well— over an hour and there was still no sign of her. Yet, I waited, hoping that somehow, she'd bring herself here despite her obvious attempts to avoid me for the past five days.

Suddenly, I heard some footsteps behind me and I turned my head grinning happily, thinking it was Racheal.

It wasn't.

It was someone else whom I had least expected. Xavier.

I know aside from Racheal, he is the only one that could bring a smile on my face just from seeing his face. I quickly stood up as Xavier made his way to where I stood, with a cheeky smile on his face.

"Xavier, what are you doing here?" I asked with a stern look on my face.
