Chapter 24. Tamed

I shifted uncomfortably on the single cushion I sat on in the large office. The office of the chairman of Sabatini Internationals.

On my way here, I thought and thought of what could make the chairman want to see me, and why he used such a tone on me.

I tried to tell myself that it was just that commanding tone that was popular amongst the Sabatini. But the negative feeling that disturbed me was incessant.

Has he found out I lied to him?

I bit my fingernails nervously as my impatience grew by the minute.

Marco had led me into this office and asked me to wait for the chairman as he was in some sort of meeting with a business partner.

As the door opened, I stood up abruptly and turned to look at the older man, looking like the first time I saw him.

“Good day. Mr Giovanni.” I blurted out quickly as he nodded towards me and walked towards his CEO leather seat with a big oak table in front.

“Please come sit in front of me.” He said as I obliged quickly.
