To death

As a pair -Cain and Reyna made way out of the room all the way to the main gate.

Reyna couldn't help but be awed at how Cain was able to make himself look so leisurely as well menacing at the same time. He was wearing a scowl that made him look like he was a grim reaper, who promised death wherever he went, and her wolf howled in appreciation, another note that she was broken in the head by Glen's sadism.

Nearing the gate, Reyna caught sight of the eight SUV's that were parked outside. Glen stood in front of the mob looking like a dog that needed a shot of rabies, he was scowling in rage with his clenched fists trembling at his sides.

When they came to a halt the other wolves from the Cypher pack joined them, Cain cupped her nape in a show of ownership just like Glen did a night before but this time her wolf didn't bristle instead she totally approved his ownership.

Glen's gaze settled on Cain's arm around her neck and anger flashed across his face most likely in response to Cain marking his territory.

" Had enough fun?" asked Glen barely concealing his rage " now plays over, get your ass hauling the SUV while I will talk it out with Covington"

Reyna stepped back  " I will never obey you not anymore "

"Come back with me, don't force me to take action"

" I said I'm not coming back !"

Glen stiffened then snarled" you do understand that because of your stubbornness, people are going to get hurt? Most possibly Cain Covington, do you want that on your conscience?"

" don't you dare!" snapped Reyna" I have done enough shit for you Glen, don't forget that the reason you can stay as an Alpha is because of me. I have done nothing to go against my conscience and if you think that there is anything that weighs on it then there is only one thing and that's saving your motherfucking life when you lost control of your wolf and couldn't shift back to your human form to heal after attacking your mother, I took pity on you because you were just fourteen and I didn't want you to die. I saved your life and how did you repay me? "then she snickered and taunted" but I highly doubt you have any conscience to be guilty enough for that"

Glen moved towards her and she knew that if she was within his reach he would have slapped her like he always did .

"Stop looking at her, look at me," said Cain as he stood in front of Reyna " I'm the one you should be talking to not her"

"You don't want this fight, Covington," said Glen turning his attention to Cain" return my mate to me, and we don't have to go through this"

" your mate?" smilingly Cain took a threatening step forward " I'm afraid to tell you that you are not her mate, last night when Reyna arrived at my territory I realised that she is mine, I must thank your packmates for chasing her to my territory"

There was a stunned silence as everyone digested the bomb that Cain just dropped. Then Glen suddenly made a violent move if not for one of the enforcers who pulled him back he would have lunged at Cain " she wears my mark!"

" but she is not your true mate, right? I don't think I need to tell how protective a wolf is for his mate right?  I haven't even settled the score of you hurting my mate with you and you delivered your head to my territory, should I call you stupid or brave"

" She is mine" growled Glen

Snarls of disagreement resounded in the clearing, even though the males around her didn't know her they still showed their support to their Alpha.

" here is the thing Glen, Reyna is my mate. Now that I have found her, I have every intention of claiming her as my mate. If anyone tries to interfere then I will kill him. If you don't then we are going to battle it out" said Cain as removed his shirt in a flick "To death" Added Cain in a chilling voice " if you don't submit we will battle to death"

" to death" nodded Glen.

Then there were sounds of bone popping and seconds later two wolves stood opposite to each other. Reyna had seen Glen shift a lot of time and knew he was the golden brown wolf but this was the first time for her to see Cain shift, he was a head taller than Glen, standing approximately around seven feet long and forty-one inches high gorgeous silvery white wolf. Cain's wolf looked as just as intimidating and robust as Cain did in his human form, with a heavily muscled neck and limbs.

His hackles were raised, and he dangerously growled at Glen. Cain's wolf snarled, his ears upright, exposing his fangs and gums.  The growl he emitted was like a machine powered by a generator.

Abruptly the golden brown wolf sprang from his crouched position and rushed forward at the silvery white wolf, coming up to snap his teeth at the Silvery wolf's muzzle. The silvery wolf dodged but didn't budge clarifying that he was the more dominant animal in this situation. The golden brown wolf retreated slowly only to once again rush forward aggressively and snap at the silver wolf.

Growling,  the silvery wolf began circling the golden brown wolf, who then copied the move so that they were circling each other. Maybe, Glen's wolf was just as explosive as his human counterpart because soon he lost patience and jumped at Cain's wolf - and that was when the dire wolf lost control.

The silvery wolf lunged at the other wolf and they came together in a clash of claws and teeth, it was like watching a recording in fast-forward motion. Growling and body slamming, there was scratching, there was biting.

The scents of blood, sweat and apprehension permeated the air, swirling around them and Reyna had to press her hand on her nose stopping herself from feeling sick, the resentment and rage of two dominant wolves burning in her skin were enough to make her woozy.

The silvery wolf delivered an excruciatingly painful bite to his enemy's flank. Then it barreled to the golden brown wolf's side so hard that the latter fell on its side without giving a chance to his opponent.

Finally, the golden-brown wolf bowed its neck in submission and only then did the silvery-white wolf let go of him.

Glen shifted back but his eyes burning with sheer fury as he stood up and retreated from, Cain who was out of control.

" Reyna! This humiliation I will never forget " snarled Glen " you better come with me or your parents will suffer"

" My parents ?" Glen's words shocked Reyna and she walked closer to the battleground but Diskant pulled her back

"don't go" when Reyna rushed forward Diskant stopped her  " maybe he is lying "

" He is a lot of things but not a liar, Glen has my parents in his hands, I can't let him go, "said Reyna as she pulled her hand away from Diskant's hold " I have to -"

" then wait for Cain to surface at least " pleaded Diskant.

Reyna knew that the Diskant wouldn't let her go without Cain, so shrugged off and inhaled in a long breath before softly taking a stance, she let go of barriers and blew out a breath, the soft pearly white smoke twirled and wrapped itself around the silvery wolf.  Instantly varying emotions slapped her skin.

Anger. Fear. Despondency. Urge to kill.

She gritted her teeth and worked her magic, instilling more and more of her power in Cain. She pushed through his emotions ignoring the sharp pain in her chest as a burning sensation rose in her throat and the taste of blood spread around in her mouth.  Worst of all was when his emotions sapped in her own and mingled together with her feelings making her feel what he was feeling.  " Cain I need you to come out please my parents I need you to help me save them "

It didn't take more than ten seconds for Cain to change back into his human form. Instantly he jumped to his feet before picking up the jeans that Diskant tossed him and pulling them on.

Cain shook his head and then looked at Glen you have my mate's parents imprisoned is that right?"

" I do what about it?" said Glen sounding non-committal

" Let them go"

"Not unless she comes with me," said Glen jerking her head towards her.

"She is my mate!"

"Many wolves abandon their true mates and imprint on others what's so bad about it? So why are you reacting like this?" said Glen with utter confidence, sounding completely at ease now that he knew he was back in control . " you didn't mate with her right now.  So what will be? Reyna, will you stay behind and leave your parents selfishly behind?"

She clenched her fists as her stomach sank. Bastard.

" you will not threaten my mate, Mcbride" rumbled Cain as the other wolves flanked him then he turned to Reyna " I won't let them get hurt, don't worry. I promise you will see them soon," said Cain, his normally bland voice reverberating with power and intensity.

" are you sure you can? What if I kill them before you could reach them?" sneered Glen

"Wrong move, McBride" rumbling as Cain mover forward " what if I kill you slowly, so slowly that you have no choice but to confess where you hid them?"

" they will die before I do," said Glen confidently, then turning to Reyna he snarled " come back with me now, and put a stop to this stupidity !"

When Cain heard Glen putting his claim despite knowing that she was his to own and possess, Cain felt his wolf slam against his barriers once again, which he wanted to control. He wanted to kill this fucker who was eyeing his mate, wanted to see him bleed and play with his bloody carcass. Wanted to be the cause of his pain, fear and misery.

Seeing him lose control Reyna was scared, she didn't want her parents to get hurt, but if Cain lost control then Glen wouldn't let her parents go, scared and afraid about her parent's safety Reyna acted before she could think - pulling Cain by his collar she mashed her lips with his.
