Chapter 38: Back to Reality

Natasha’s POV

“You should have gone here with Draven to ensure your safety,” I frustratedly said to Sayna.

Saya averted her gaze as if avoiding to look into my eyes.

Seeing her reaction made me so much more nervous than I already was.

“Sayna,” I called, which sounded out authoritative even if I didn’t want it to be, it just came out.

The last thing I want is for Sayna to be upset with me after everything she did for me.

“He doesn’t know I left town. No one knows I left and where I went,” she whispered, head down, looking at her feet.

I deeply closed my eyes as I massaged my temple upon hearing what she just said.

Why would she do that?!

As much as I love my friend, Sayna, I think she will be the death of me.

“Sayna, please. Please, you have to go home now,” I pleaded to Sayna as I held both of her hands tightly. Scared than I have ever been.
