Chapter Four

Troy's POV

The food was amazing. I would never come here, not even after signing the peace treaty. My sister, her happiness brought me here. Katherine was looking happy with him. If he couldn't keep her as he had promised me. I'd kill every single wolf of his pack. But someone has captured my attention. She is so vulnerable. They called me their enemy. I don't care. She will be mine. Her scent still lingered in my lungs. Her taste was still on my tongue.

"What do you say, Alpha?" I pulled out myself from my thoughts and stared at his Beta, Kelvin.

"It looks natural but it does seem. Wild animals stay out of our territory as they can sense the danger." I told them. I had a lot of enemies. Thanks to my f****** father. His death didn't merely bring me the title of the Alpha but a bucket full of enemies.

"We couldn't smell or get anything suspicious," Max said.

There is where you are allowing your enemies to dig your grave, and rule your people. He doesn't need to know my thoughts.

"I'll send my warriors," I said.

My words anger him, "I can take care of my mate," He said.

"Rey," I glanced at my beta. People mostly considered him my younger brother. They weren't wrong. He was my father's beta's son. My uncle's son.

"Kelvin, I think we should appoint our guards on petrol," He told him.

Kelvin looked at his Alpha. There was no choice for him. Max nodded his head. His beta seemed worried for a second. He lifted from the chair and turned to the door.

'Ask Brew to guard her house.' I told my beta through our mind connection. I didn't need to mention her name.

'The one who cooked delicious food for us. The healer, Martha,' I heard his soft chuckle.

I glared at him. He didn't need my words now. His expression changed and he nodded his head.

They shuffled out of his office. The click of the door broke the silence of the room.

"I don't want my people to feel captured," Max said leaning forward.

I didn't give him any expression. I rubbed my jawline, my gaze fixed on him. I could tear him apart in seconds. He was my sister's mate. That was saving him.

"They aren't. I need one thing from you." I told him impassively.

"I have sworn to protect and cheer your sister. I'll keep them to my grave," he was fidgeting in his chair. He could be a strong Alpha. But we know... where do we stand? He couldn't even smell my emotions. Even my mate couldn't find me through our bond until I allowed it. Bad blood of my father was still running in my veins. It was my mother, her upbringing brought me here, making me sit calm. She was a powerful angel hat made my father the strongest alpha. I was stronger than him, undefeatable.

"I'm not doubting your ability." I leaned forward and rested my elbow on the wooden table.

      "Then?" He looked perplexed.

"I want her, Kim. She'll be my mate," I told him.

He bolted to his feet. I stayed relaxed in my seat. I used my power only when I wanted to hunt. He wasn't my prey.

"Impossible." He said, his voice louder.

I locked my jaw as I glared at him, "Give me what I want. Or you won't like the consequences," I simply told him. There was no f****** way, I would leave her here. She'd be mine.

"She's going to find her mate in a few days, on full moon day. She's waiting for her mate and wants to bond with him. I can't allow you to shatter her dreams, just because you want her." He said, his hands fisted. He looked attached to her. It was infuriating.

'Kill!' My wolf growled at him.

      'No, he's Kathy's mate,'

"She isn't going to find any mate. I'd kill him." I drew on my feet. I was taller than him. I glared at him, "She's mating to me." I told him, gritting my teeth.

"Think from your brain, your d*** ain't getting you anywhere." he snapped.

My muscles tightened in anger. My wolf growled louder. I launched at him with full speed pinning him against the wall. My withering glare cut him. I hit his head hard against the wall that the loud of hitting reverberated in the room, "I said, mate. She'll be mated to me." My voice was heavier and more menacing. My wolf was taking over my body. My hand changed, I could see thick fur on the back of my hand and arm. I lifted him up against the wall.

"She's an innocent girl. Leave her out of your games," He clawed at my hand.

"Mine," I pulled my hand back, and he stumbled on his feet, landing. My hand clenched around his neck again, I hit his head hard on the wall. It was getting hard for me to rein my wolf. He wanted to kill him. I glared at him.

His eyes dilated in shock, "Ok," I heard his low whisper.

My wolf retrieved the hand and kept his glare at him, "Two days. preparations would be started. I want her in my territory in two days. Or. On the third day, I'll be back to take her. My warriors would guard her. If they got a nick, or I get, you're planning something. I'll annihilate everything here, including your pack members." I turned on my heels, still trying to control my wolf. I never lost my control like this before.

My wolf wanted to take her with him. She needed some time. It would be hard for her to bond to such a person, whom she considered her enemy. I wouldn't wait. She would be my mate in three days.

I stopped in my tracks. Brew and three warriors scooted closer at my sight. Katherine was already back on her way home. I darted my gaze at her home. It was early morning. I could see a woman around her mid forty. She was watering the plants.

I strode forward and cleared my throat. The woman looked up at me. She's her mother. I sighted another woman, not more than ten feet away from us. Her eyes dilated.

"Alpha Troy," Their faces lit up with a smile

The woman I was guessing was her mother, stepped forward, "Are you hungry, Child?" She asked me with a smile.

I wasn't expecting the invitation or welcome with a smile. When I accepted the invitation to come in here. I was fully prepared for war. I always am.

I could feel her around. If she was looking at me she wouldn't be planning to come out. She's shy. Her eyes were big when I pecked her last night.

       "Yes, Mrs..." I trailed.

"Martha. She is my friend, Carina." She grinned like a little girl.

Carina smiled, "Oh! I should wash the vegetables." She quickened her treads inside.

"Can I talk to you privately?" I asked her.

Her eyes dilated for a second. She sniffed the air. She would be safe with me. She relaxed after scenting no danger in the air. Her gaze drifted at my guards. She nodded and said, "Get in the dining hall if you're hungry," Her smile returned as she told my warriors.

'Go' I said through my mind link. They obeyed immediately.

"Please, this way Alpha Troy," She gestured for me to walk into her house.

       "Just Troy," I said.

Her cheeks turned puffy with her full smile and she nodded her head. We walked into a small library. Everything was old but clean.

"What do you want to talk?" She asked, placing a book back on the shelf.

      "About your daughter," I said.

Her hand stopped, she glanced at me and nodded with a smile. I hoped her smile would make things easy for me to explain the situation to her.

I wanted to see her before going. I walked into her room. The conversation would be between us until she mated me. My heart began to beat faster, her long honey-colored hair spread over the pillow. My feet halted near her bed. I could be the most feared Alpha but I was just a wolf right now. Her eyes were closed, freckled on her nose, and slightly tanned from staying in the sun. She stirred feelings inside me I couldn't explain. She was a vulnerable, little creature. I was aching to touch her, kiss her and suck her skin. Her eyes were of rich chocolate color. She was sleeping on her stomach. Her scent was overwhelming, jasmine.

' We're ready to go,' I heard my beta.

I trudged over and bent down. I softly pressed my lips on her temple. I waited for a second. She didn't stir. I pulled back. With a last glance at her, I strode out of the room. I would never allow her out of sight. She would be helpless against her own desires.

Her scent was rousing my wolf, 'Be calm and. Wait, ' I told him as he wanted to slip next to her.
