36. Dead

It was night when we reached back to the pack, I didn't know what to think or say, so I just went to the home directly.

Alex and Xavier were sitting on the couch. Seeing my mate's worried face I felt bad but I didn't have enough power to say anything.

"Where were you? It's midnight." He said and I just smiled because of how caring he was.

"I told you to not worry."

"You think he won't? You're so late, Stella." Alex piped up. I have been talking with Beta and I got to know a lot about him. But one thing that made my anger toward him less was he told me that his mate died after a year they met. It was a sad thing.

It was heart-wrenching to watch him cry after remembering his other half, his life partner also his sister, and his mother. He lost many people but still, he acted all-powerful. The day he opened up to me I saw how broken and sad he was from inside.
