I walked away from him, without arguing. There was no point, I knew this by now.

I didn’t know where I wanted to go, or where was it where I could hide from him, in his penthouse.

Sophia had accompanied me here earlier. I was relieved to see her. I did think she had a part to play in my parent’s death but I didn’t want her to get killed for it now. So, I was worried that Alpha Azkiel’s warriors had done something to her. I was utterly comforted to see her in one piece, even smiling at me like I didn’t leave her there alone.

She was the one who showed me around this penthouse on the 60th floor of a building in the middle of the city. It was shocking to realize that we were among humans and not hiding in the wilderness to keep our identities a secret. This was quite rare for werewolves to be living among humans, and so openly on top of everything.
