As Sam looked up from the water, she could only see candy's ponytail hair dancing in the air and her black woolen jacket.
'This girl must be catching a lot of fun over there' she thought and slipped back into the water.
Candy continued walking through the cleared path of the thicket. The chirpings of birds shifted her attention from the butterfly. She narrowed her gaze and sighed when she saw nothing. She looked up again but the butterfly was gone. She cursed under her breath.
"I must get you this time." She muttered, the butterfly was now clinging to a leaf just a mile away. She cursed under her breath again. It seemed like her closeness alerted the butterfly to fly away for safety.
She didn't realize how far she had walked until a powerful and distinctive aura filled the atmosphere.
The place was dim and quiet, different from the thicket she arrived from. She looked up to see the sky but tall trees formed canopies overhead. She became scared and her eyes kept narrowing that she didn't realize she was moving along as well. She became confused and tried to run out. She wanted to run to the garden but she couldn't find the path she followed through. Standing motionlessly, her pulse hiked, inviting goosebumps to envelope her skin.
"Sam."
She muttered while her eyes welled up in tears. She decided to find her way back without realizing that she was going even deeper into the forest. The ground was sloppy at some spots and straight at another. She slapped her skin mistaking it for a fly and she could hear the sound echoed at a far angle.
She has already gotten tired and weary of walking yet she couldn't see any end yet. She decided to scream Sam's name to come to her rescue.
"Sam…"
"Sam…"
While she waited for the echo to die down, that aura she felt earlier filled the air again but now, it looked more real. So real as if a lot of wild animals were around her. She remained transfixed in the same spot using her two palms to cover her lips. Her breath changed to pants. The aura was strong; strong enough to leave one petrified.
Suddenly, two white figures appeared before her. They were both putting on black long sleeve shirts on top black trousers. Her hands vibrated on her lips as soon as they were very close to her and she could see their blood red eyes, longing at her hungrily. She has never seen these figures before.
She couldn't look at them for long because those red eyes were piercing through her. She wondered if everything about her would end: her life and family. She remembered her mum telling them that the forest was dangerous and it was the truth. Her heart welled up in regret and she wished she never came this far. She wished she didn't scream, no one would have seen her if she hadn't screamed.
She was jolted back to reality when she heard a voice. "She will make a good meal." The female figure said and curved her lips into a smirk. The male figure nodded to his mate. What are they planning to do with her? And the female figure saying she would make a good meal only meant one thing.
"Are these people vampires?"candy thought.
"Bade farewells.'' the male figure said and lowered in a position that his prey could get to his reach.
Candy shivered when she saw his incisor change to long fangs. The upper and lower incisors, four of them elongated. She wanted to scream but she couldn't. His fangs were almost brushing against her skin but they haven't touched yet. It sent hot chills to her body.
He held her head so that her neck could be tilted easily. Just when he was about to do it, he heard a scream "stop!'' so he rose immediately to kill whosoever that tried to stop him. It was that second that candy let out her breath. She has held her breath for so long.
She watched the male figure charge at his mate. Their eyes locked into each other's. He thought it was his enemy that tried to stop him.
"What?" He asked his mate and threw a sharp glance at candy just to make sure she was still there.
"She's not alone. I heard her calling a name, Sa…" she turned to candy and continued,"Say the name again."
"Sam." Candy responded amidst tears.
"I will go and bring her for my meal." she giggled and leapt away.
Silence drifted in while the male figure smiled to himself because he was about to have something different. It didn't really matter to him and his mate if they broke the vampire's law. They have learnt that the blood of humans was more powerful and tastier than animals.
As he turned, his mouth dropped by what he saw.
A tall muscular man was now standing before him rather than his meal. His eyes glowed like hell fire, while his incisor elongated. Candy was afraid for the man that came to rescue her because he had no weapons with him. She wished she had told this saviour what kind of man that he was about to fight with.
The vampire man flickered his eyelids and immediately charged at his supposed enemy. Candy quickly shut her eyes so that she wouldn't watch the vampire man eat her saviour up. The vampire man threw a punch at his opponent but he missed it. He leapt closer and closer so that his opponent had no space but It seemed as if his opponent knew his every move as he continuously missed his target. The vampire man continued lounging at his opponent but couldn't get any of his moves. It was time for his opponent to charge at him too. He held his right arm up until half his power gathered in. Taking the vampire man in just one hand, he threw him against a tree some miles away. The tree crashed along with him yet he leapt up again.
"Holy shit!" The vampire man cursed under his breath. He charged at his opponent again but in full force this time. He missed him because the latter jumped over his head and attacked him from behind.
Candy's jaw dropped and her eyes widened as she watched her saviour growled like he was in pain already. He was growling non stop until he transformed into a wolf. The wolf had brown hair over it and his remarkably swiftness aided him in holding his opponent down to the ground. He gradually tore his opponent into pieces until the vampire man no longer had a breath left in him.
He let out a few pants and watched the figure lay motionlessly. He took out a fire box from his pocket and set the figure ablaze. Vampires could regenerate after being killed but burning them meant destroying their soul and body.
Candy began to sweat as the big wolf walked toward her but soon, it changed into his normal self. She sighed and shut her eyes for a moment. She thought everything that happened now was just a nightmare. She knew vampires were real, what about the wolf? who was he?
"I'm Edward." He pinched his brows.
"I'm Candy. I was going to die but you saved me." Candy replied. She instantly stepped back the moment he drew nearer because she was scared.
She feared that he might change into that big wolf again and eat her up.
"What brought you here? The forest is quite perilous, you know." the wolf man asked, no sign of harm showing in his voice.
Candy wanted to cry for a while before she could say anything. It was really hard for her to talk because her foot ached and she had sustained some bruises as well.
"Oh! Let me treat your wound." The wolf man said and hurried off to get some herbs to treat her wound. He came back with some herbs and treated her wound.
"Ohh…" Candy groaned and tried to retreat her feet but his hands were holding her so strongly that she couldn't move them.
"It will make you feel better." he said as he finished applying the herbs on her.
He was going to ask her where she came from so that he could bring her home but a really pretty girl walked into them. He gaped at her like he just saw a witch goddess. She too wanted to sprint off, she had never encountered such a handsome prince in her life.
As the vampiress returned from her hunt, she didn't see her mate or the prey. She looked around in an attempt to catch traces of footprints but saw nothing. Her heart darkened as she began to perceive danger in the air.She could see past events so she saw when her mate was burning into ashes."No!" Her eyes turned red as she screamed. She found his ashes, heaped somewhere close to a tree and she leaped over. She stood before the ashes for a while before she dropped herself to the ground, taking a handful of ash she began to sob. Her eyes deepened into redness until her fangs elongated, longer than before. She continued crying till dusk fell. Her clothes became dampened with blood and sweat. It was too hard to believe that her mate was gone. After some minutes in the darkness, she collected some ash with her shirt and leaped away. She could see clearly in the dark, leaping from tree to tree without stopping to catch a breath. She had to go before her enemy could see her. She got to a
Edward furiously pushed away saplings out of his way as he raced through the forest. He tried to collect some sound waves and by putting the strings together, he was able to hear the direction of the sound. At that moment, he began to recall the good times he had shared with Alpha Marcus. A lot of good memories kept streaming into his head causing him to increase his pace.He had to save his brother as he might never be able to forgive himself if his brother eventually got killed by his enemies. He was still some miters away yet it seemed as if it was taking centuries to get there. The howling was decreasing and he just knew what it meant. Probably, Marcus must have given up.Suddenly, he halted at a spot and narrowed his gaze to and fro. The place appeared deserted and hidden from other parts of the forest. It looked empty with no trees to form canopies overhead nor was the sun out to melt the frozen snow that settled everywhere. No wonder it was a bit difficult for him to easily lo
Sam firmly knotted the facemask over Candy's head. She had to tie it well because she recalled how Candy tricked her while they played 'hide and seek' in the house. Candy would trickly extend the mask away from one of her eyes so she could easily find Sam. Yet again, she suspected her just as she caught hold of Edward. Now it was his turn.Candy chuckled as she watched Sam tie the mask over his face as well. The way she carefully, yet slowly shifted his long-minted, thick black hair aside so that she could find the ropes. She wanted to take more of her time to adore his hair using her hand to intertwine it to a curl. The fragrance and the thickness of his hair was like…Truly, his hair was sweet to her. "Ahh…" He hissed as she used her finger to poke through his hair."Am sorry. It's a bit difficult to knot, she lied and began to do it quickly, Does it hurt?" She quickly added. "A Little." He answered with a mumble that even Candy didn't hear. She supported him by standing in the
The Grand Elders of the Volturi gathered again in their meeting room. A room that exuded a powerful and devilish aura. Though it came from the Grand Elders themselves. Grand Elders doesn't mean they were too old and had walking sticks to support their movement. They had lived for many Centuries but still, they looked young and agile except their head and Layla who were the youngest. The ten of them sat on each right and left wing of the chairs as if waiting for someone more superior while the Drudge Vampires refilled each cup, every now and then. It was as if the animal's blood tasted better to them.Layla's eyes shoned with anticipation as she stared at the curtains for signs. The way it hung delicately from the frame as if dancing from a touch of breeze. She had always liked him even when he kept a distance from her.Suddenly, her smiles appeared as he appeared from the curtain, bringing a welcome pop of aura in the room. The curtain was a creamy brown, the type that glowed golden
Back at the Jules Pack Werewolves castle, everything else happened slowly as everyone hoped for Alpha Marcus to wake up. The third time that the Seer came to the fourth floor, he left no good impression. When he finished applying the antidote on Alpha Marcus, his face turned gloomy as if he forgot to add a particular ingredient to his antidote. Probably, the special ingredient that could wake him up.He was the only powerful Seer that the Werewolves had. One intriguing thing about this man was his physique. His head was was covered with thick fur throughout, a pair of mono brows and blue eyes. His fangs, on his upper and lower jaw permanently poked out of his mouth and his ears too propped out in the air. The fur ended around his neck making him appear like a human from his shoulder to his feet. The stories that accompanied his birth was so pathetic as his parents abandoned him with the feeling that he was cursed.Everyone 's gaze grew intense as they waited to hear what he had to sa
He increased his pace, breathlessly and his eyes changed to golden. He thought of nothing else but Alpha Marcus. The fact that he was going to die made to hit the trees more and when his body reached its limit, he transformed into a Wolf. He became more vigorous, using his whole body to smash and uproot the trees. If he had to do this for days or weeks just so that the guilt and pain that wallowed in his heart could go, he would. He blamed himself for not saving him from those blood suckers. When he became drenched and dampened with sweats, his body longing to do more but his heart was saying 'no' to him. The forest was scattered as many uprooted trees was here and broken thick branches were there. The soil also distributed to some areas in heaps. He lowered himself down to the ground and narrowed his eyes around to see how disorganized the forest had become.********************As sunlight peered through the curtains, the room was shimmering in brightness and the scents of fried,
He teased her about how she looked chubby in the framed portrait that was hung on the wall, about how her food might taste too salty for her Mum and about how she wanted to run away in the forest calling him a monster. He was laughing loudly as he talked but he stopped as she teased him too. About how he tripped into the pool and almost drowned, calling for 'help, help', how he refused to take off the mask and his cheek blotched reddish when she took off the mask. She was laughing as well, enjoying the gloominess on his face."Okay. Am sorry." She began. Though, she was waiting for the chance to say this. Edward was quiet, no more wearing a gloomy face. "That was my fault. If I hadn't agreed to play the game perhaps, you shouldn't have tripped." For a while, they stopped everything else and focused on each other. Edward swallowed as her gentle voice breezed into him. He felt important for the first time, been apologized to by someone. He did want to cut her short from the start bec
A few Minutes later, Candy came back inside with sadness and disappointment visible on her face. She had always wished to see the procedures that involve baking a cake and she was even the one that arranged all the ingredients so that things would go smoothly. But right now, that feeling of betrayal lingered in the pit of her belly. Sam and Edward were really sorry. Sure it must be really pathetic."Should we go and talk to her?" Edward asked, a bit of worry imprinted on his face."I shall go and talk to her." Sam responded and walked to the sofa where Candy was sitting. "I will come with you." Edward followed."My sweet Candy, I am soooo sorry. I will make it up to you, I promise." Sam squatted, her hands pressing against Candy's legs. Candy's face remained unflinched from what Sam had just said as if it meant nothing to her. It truly meant nothing right now for Candy because Sam has promised to make it up to her- severally, but she never did."And You think I would believe you?" Ca
