Chapter 44

“Do you think that you are going to be able to help us in any way?” asked Beth as Red looked at the kids and thought what on earth would make someone kidnap such kids.

“I was trying to get out of this place somehow by hanging from the ledge of the window but I only lost a nail in the process,” said Red as softly as she could. All three of them had shared the meal and the cubs had asked her to eat the food because they said they had eaten earlier.

“Why were you taken from home?” Red suddenly asked and Taylor looked at his sister and then Beth nodded. Red was getting the subtle indication that it was Beth who made sure that Taylor did not say anything which would be wrong or get them into trouble. These two might be twins and they were certainly depending on each other in that way.
