*VANCE’S POV* Marlena conducted the ritual and I observed. Chloe's body elevated into the air amidst the sparkling dust. When she broke the spell, I vomited the contents of the potion and it felt like my intestines were also expelled. The cursed symbol disappeared from my body leaving me lightheaded. Blayne motioned to hold me up but I dismissed his assistance, indicating that I could manage on my own footing. Chloe revived and as the magical tie became undone, she screamed in pain from the crevices in her soul as everything slowly severed. For me, it was like being in a pool of darkness with a spiritual presence looming over me. *SIANNA’S POV* The funeral was arranged within two days. Mom and Rionna stayed at my house to help me through everything. They made the arrangements and could only accommodate three hundred people at the interment. Pack members sent their condolences and the living room was filled with flowers and gift cards from sympathetic greeters. It was difficult coping with the sadness in my heart but speaking to our mothers kept me from dwelling on the worst that had already passed. *CURTIS POV* Floating around a dark space for months had my mind frazzled. I awaken in an unknown setting, staring at the perforated metal ceiling tiles of white-painted galvanized steel.
