Another two weeks

Bethany’s Pov (2 days later)

I took a deep breath as I dialed the hotel number that Adams had gave me when he left. We had hardly spoke to each other for the last two days and I couldn’t wait to talk to him.

The ring of the phone had me smiling and leaning more into the window. I knew he was always tired when I called but he had promised me that he would not be busy today and we could talk all day if I wanted. So I had purposely slept the whole day away just so I would be fully energized for when I called him.

“Hello.” Adams grumbled in a groggy tone when the phone was finally picked up. I looked out at the dark sky over the sea with furrowed brows.

“Did I wake you?” I asked as I I heard movement on the other line telling me that he had answered the phone half asleep. He said he would be up early today but now I was wondering if he said that to please me.

“Did you want me to call you back another time?” I asked softly when all that came on the other line was movement from him
