Tale 53: Play

Once upon a time, there was a girl whose mother had died when she was born. Her father raised her alone, until he could no longer bear no more the loneliness and married someone, who has two daughters of her own. The girl felt sad since she felt that her father had already forgotten her mother and replaced her with another woman. But, looking at her father’s now old face, she finally accepted her stepmother and stepsisters. After all, her father didn’t have it easy in life to raise her alone. Her father also would feel very lonely since he doesn’t have someone to accompany him by his side as he gets old.

Then, her father died. She was then left in her stepmother’s hands. She thought that her stepmother would also love her as she loved her stepsisters. But who would have thought that they would make her their housemaid as soon as her father died? They actually hated her all this time! This made the girl feel very sad. She is hurt by their words as they verbally attack her.
