I got out of the taxi, taking my travel bags from the trunk then paid the man.
I pulled my bags, as well as myself, all the way to the company's Parking lot, stopping beside Hames' car. A man helped me out with taking my bags away to a different car then he got into it and started driving away. I didn't know where he was taking them to but I could tell it was meant to be.
I rested against the car, waiting for a few minutes before Hames finally arrived. He had bodyguards tailing behind him as he struted to his car.
"Good evening, sir." I greeted, separating my body from the car.
"Good thing you're not late." He replied frigidly, indicating that I stepped aside from the car door which I obediently did.
The driver opened the car door for him then he slowly got into it. I turned around the car and opened the door for myself, getting into it then shut it. The Driver got in, starting the car.
"Kade, as well as his secretary, Jovi, will be going with us. It's a joint business between 'HamIX International', 'RICARDO International' and 'Carters'. You have to understand that this is a very important business deal." He said in his crazily deep voice.
"I understand." I nodded.
"Good." He turned his head away from my direction.
The car moved at a good speed, making the trees, buildings and sky seem like they were moving. I kept staring out the window, noticing how the sky was getting darker and darker, till we arrived at the airport.
We got out of the car. Luckily for me, we were going to be using Hames' private plane. I had never been in a private plane before so I was excited to be in one.
After the necessary steps, we finally got into the plane. Jovi and Kade joined us, taking their seats beside each other while Hames and I sat beside each other.
"Kade, it's so nice to meet you again." I said with a grin.
"Well, it's not so nice to see you again." Jovi muttered, almost rolling her eyes. What was this woman's deal with me?
"Jovi." Kade scolded with a grin. "It definitely is nice to see you again too. How has working with Hames' been?"
I furrowed my forehead slightly. "Well… different." I squirmed, leaning back in my seat. "Very different."
"He's way too strict and annoying, right?" He chuckled. I nodded in response, giving him 'you totally get that' look.
Hames cast me a sideways glance, not saying anything.
"Hames," Kade shook his head slightly with a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "He can never change."
***
As cliche as it may seem, I had happened to fall asleep all through the flight, only to wake up with my head on Hames' shoulder.
"Uh— sorry." I apologized.
He didn't reply to me but instead rose to his feet, following behind Kade and Jovi who was hanging over Kade's shoulder with his arm around her waist. I also rose to my feet, following behind them.
We got out of the plane then hefty men who lined up started tailing behind us, serving as bodyguards.
Kade and Jovi entered Kade's limo while I still followed Hames till he stopped by a black car. A chauffeur opened the door for him. He got into it, after which I followed.
Once again, the drive was as silent as ever. I still felt so sleepy to even notice my environment, the beautiful view of Australia. I dozed off at short intervals till the car finally stopped in an extremely beautiful and patently classy 5-star hotel. It looked so much like those crazily expensive hotels I saw in movies, making my stomach bubble in exhilaration.
"Wow." I smiled to myself.
Kade and Jovi's limo just pulled over right in front of us then they got out of it, still being so clingy.
Once again, men who served as bodyguards followed behind us as we strode into the hotel.
Everyone here seemed to know who Hames was. Rather than running to him for his autograph or something, they were instead bowing their heads politely.
We got into an elevator with Kade and Jovi who couldn't stop mummering to each other, laughing way more than normal people ought to. The elevator stopped at the 4th floor then it re-opened.
Jovi and Kade stepped out of it. I attempted to do so too but Hames shot me a death glare. "Did I ask you to go? Remember, you don't work with 'RICARDO International." I hate how his deep voice always commanded authority and scared me a bit, no matter how hard I tried to make it not to.
The doors closed again, transporting us till it got to the 7th floor, stopping there and opened. Hames stepped out of it first then I followed behind him.
"As far as I remember, I told you I don't like people walking behind me if they aren't my bodyguards." Once again, his surly tone infuriated me.
I ran a little to keep up with his pace, walking beside him. He suddenly stopped by a black heavy wooden door, turning to me with one hand in his pocket. He took a card from his suit coat pocket, handing it to me.
I glanced at the card. "Room 7K," I read out. "My room."
He took out another identical card from his from the same pocket, turning to the door. I observed it had the tag 'ROOM 7K' boldly written on it. I grew a bit puzzled at what was going on when he inserted his card into the correct hole, hitting a few buttons on it then unlocked the door, turning it open.
"Uh, I'm kinda confused here. My card has—" he cut me off by walking inwards, opening the door wider.
"Come in." He ordered in a low voice.
"Uh?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Come in." He raised his voice this time.
I wanted to argue but controlled myself from doing that, frowning instead. I walked in.
I ought to drool over the extremely beautiful white and gold themed interior design but I was too interested in knowing what was going on.
"Like I said, this is a very serious business deal. We'd have to work together all day and night long so we'll be sharing this room 7K." He said.
"What?!" I exclaimed.
"Relax. It's a Presidential suite. We'll share the living room. There are separate rooms with their own bathroom." He clarified, craning his neck in the direction of two white doors with gold frames.
"I'm not sharing this place with you." I retorted.
His face contorted. "I can't go around calling you from the next door or something whenever I need you to do something urgently. Please be reasonable." He huffed.
I opened my mouth to say something but he didn't give me the chance to talk, interrupting me.
"There's a day's grace to rest, due to stress and all. Our luggage would be brought here anytime soon. You should freshen up, make me a coffee then sleep or do whatever shit you want to do. Have it in mind that Tomorrow would be a very busy day for us." With that, he walked away, and towards one of the doors, opening it and getting into it. From the peek of the room, I could tell it was going to be a to-die-for interior design.
Why did things have to become worse? This was literally sharing a house with Hames! Okay, what could go wrong now?

A/N: Yay, double updates! I'm proud of myself 😄. Ignore any grammatical errors or nicely point them out.
I'll try to update more than one chapter tomorrow again. I already have the next chapter playing in my head on repeat 😏. It's just left to type it into words, the hard stage.
Btw, let me know your thoughts on this book and this chapter in the comment section. Your comments are my inspiration to write more, love y'all for reading and joining my F******k group, 'Author Gift Odulesi (Gift's readers)'.

Goodnight, guys.
Our luggage was brought in. I pulled my Travel bag into my room. It was grey and white themed with beautiful paintings on each side of the wall. The ceiling was very high with a beautiful chandelier shooting from it. The best part of the room was the fact that it had a glass wall behind the queen-sized bed that flaunted the view of the most beautiful waterbody I had ever seen.Stepping into the balcony opposite the door, I was more than marveled at the glorious landscape in sight. I didn't dare look down to avoid getting nervous by the height of the building but the melody the breeze gave off in my ears made excitement jerk to life in me. I loved this place already and could spend a really long time here.I instantly remembered Hames had asked me to make him coffee. Couldn't he just ask the h
After waving Kade off, the elevator transported me to the 7th floor where mine and the Hotel room I had deliberately planned to share with Imogen was.The elevator doors separated, permitting me to scuttle out of it and to 'ROOM 7K'. I inserted my card into the right hole, unlocking the door.I stormed in, hastily shut the door. The lights were on, indicating Imogen had switched them back on.Staggering to the sofas, I sat down on one of them, resting my head against the back of the sofa and shut my eyes. Kade's words couldn't stop reeling in my head. Did I really have to openly express my emotions to Imogen? That was something I hated doing.I couldn't imagine walking up to Imogen and saying, 'Imo
Wasn't she supposed to shut her eyes or something? But no, she had them widely opened, looking totally out of breath and life. She made me scared to attempt to kiss her. What if she got really angry and hit me or something? Or quit the job and charge me for sexual harassment. I was going to lose her forever. It obviously wasn't the right time to kiss.I did what I had intended to do in the first place, flicked the switch off to turn off the lights."Hames!" She exclaimed in fear as everywhere went totally black.I felt something vigorously push at my chest (obviously her hands), making me almost stumble backwards but I was quick enough to stop myself from falling.
'Hames, she's not a baby, she can be by herself.' My inner mind (if that's a thing) said to me."Aren't you leaving?" She stared at me again with bored eyes.Without a word, I turned around and took my leave. Mom hadn't stopped calling. The call ended but she called again almost immediately. When I was certain I had reached a spot where the noise from the club wasn't going to serve as a disturbance, I finally answered her call."Hi, Mom." I said in a gentle tone."Wow, not a grumpy response. Lemme guess, you're not engulfed in work-related stuff at the moment?"
~ IMOGEN ~"Miss Mark, please get me coffee." Hames ordered, tracing the head of his pen around the printed words on the file in his hands."Okay, sir." I nodded, turning around with a yawn and to the kitchen to make him coffee.I was having a very terrible headache. I knew I had gotten so drunk last night but I couldn't clearly remember all that had happened.Nevertheless, 'she's my girlfriend' kept ringing in my head, increasing the terrible headache I was having.I was also damn hungry. I also remembered puking my guts out, my throat was still hurt from the pressure of vomiting. I
Finally, I was having a break. My hands hurt so bad, as well as my back, legs, arms and every part of my body was in pain.It wasn't such an easy task working for someone like Hames. Whoever had thought coming to Australia was going to be for fun and peaceful moments, that person thought so wrong. It was extremely terrible and I felt like crying my eyes out.I dropped my phone on the bedside table, plopping myself on my bed, hoping I could sleep for the next few minutes till the break was over. I was hungry but I was too tired to eat.I sank deeper in the softness of my bed, slowly shutting my eyes to ooze into the world of sleep.I was jerked back awake from the sound of my ringtone. Groanin
My eyes widened beyond limit, popping out of their sockets and almost rolled away. Hames didn't stop kissing me, he was exploring my mouth in ways that did things to my body that they ought not to feel.He slid his tongue into my mouth, exploring every inch of it. His kiss was causing a tingling sensation to flow through me. My internals were squeezing so bad, but in a good way.Ignoring the fact that his mouth tasted of alcohol, his kiss felt good. It ignited a weird kind of fire in me and was making a weird spark occur inside of me.I knew I should've pulled away but I couldn't. I was too shocked to even move. The kiss was one heavy one, explaining things I found difficult to understand.I
Hames just happened to be one of the weirdest people I had ever known. He still hadn't said anything about kissing me but instead apologized for everything he was. That was the weirdest encounter of my life.I raised my head from the files in my hands, glancing at him in perplexity."Mr. Hendrix," I called."Hames.""Uh?" I quirked an eyebrow at him.He set his laptop aside, folding his arms across his chest, making it seem like he was showing off his strong biceps."It's Hames. You should call me Hames, I prefer it." Dammit! It w
