"Next time, remind me to put up an act to eat in my room," I told Davina. She laughed.

"Well, you won't be eating there after today. You'll be joining the master in his dining."

I deadpanned.

My eyes grazed hers when I found her holding my hand.

"Hey..c'mon, don't be afraid. There are two dining halls in this mansion. We're a family, and as a family, we eat together. The boss cannot eat with the sluts and soldiers. They're the lowest common humans in this mansion, but the boss eats with the higher ranks, like us."

I blinked.

"Like us?."

"Like you and I. Don't worry, with time, you'll get to know everyone and their ranks. And when you're sworn in, the sluts will not have to look down on you anymore."

Her words pierce into my mind.

This is getting funnier than I expected. My shocked eyes melted into amused ones.

Davina's phone buzzed.

She tucked her short hair behind her ear and looked into her phone.
