A smile crept on my face as I remember those memories, which I always find hard to forget. I sat at the edge of my bed and pulled off my snickers and then my short pants, striding into the bathroom to freshen up.
"You mean you are not coming?" Bethany asked behind the phone.
"I have plans, sorry," I told her, clenching tight to my phone with my neck and shoulder, as I crammed my clothes inside our washing machine.
"Umm... Okay, I will tell you everything tomorrow and make sure to take good care of yourself "
I nodded not minding the fact she couldn't see me before ending the call, I pressed the on the bottom and watched the machine spin my clothes roughly.
After doing my laundry, I arranged my clothes inside the wardrobe. Threw my phone on my bed and walked down stairs for supper. I made a sandwich, took a bottle of milk from the fridge before heading back to my room. I arrange the meal on my bed and took a bite from the sandwich. I chewed sl
A loud groan escaped my lips at the loud sound of my alarm."Argh!" I groaned. Why on earth do schools exist! I squinted my eyes trying to sharpen the blurry images before me when the alarm rang yet again.Without giving it a second thought I grabbed the alarm and tossed it away. I was complacent by the loud crashing sound it made not until I heard a knock. One problem after another."Who is it?" I asked, with a grunt."Tony's nanny is everything okay""Yes! Just go away" I groaned, my eyes were dull, wishing for an extra minute of sleep."Okay, and breakfast is ready". She said.I bolted up, my eyes wide awake. "What did you say?" I inquired."I said breakfast is ready, but you want to continue dozing, so more for me". She said teasingly behind the door.I stared at my rattling stomach. "What did you prepare?""You're Favorite. Chicken soup"I opened the door grinning sheepishly f
"Hey! Am home" I yelled, pushing the door open. Sophia who was busy playing with Tony on the couch, craned her neck to face me."You are back?" She smiled."Yea" I groaned, dropping off my backpack. "So hungry" I mumbled, laying flat on the couch. She giggled."Not funny!" I mumbled, grunting tiredly."I made lunch""Of course, you did" I titled my head to face her. "Were you supposed to wait for me?" I asked with an eye roll. She stood up with Tony in her arms."Sometimes I wonder how you cope when I wasn't around!" She shook her head. "I mean for a food freak like you!" She grinned sheepishly."I made chicken soup, sandwich, and other stuff. Since you are hardly around, paying visits to your boyfriend" I said glaring at her. She quickly looked away, I knew she wanted to crack a joke but I just wasn't in the mood, guess Bethany being absent in school really got to me, or maybe I was just very hungry. As the saying goes, a hungry lion is an angry one."Um... Sorry" She mumbled, looking
"A date!" I thought."You can think about it later?" He said, nervously. Scratching the back of his head. "You should go meet Bethany now".I nodded. "Where is she?""She might be in bronx," He shrugged.Might be? am sure she would be. Bronx river is one of the best place to alleviate, and am hundred percent sure Bethany would be there. We often hang around there most of the time, anytime we wanted to loosen up, it is the best place to stay if you want to be alone. That is, in my own point of view."Thank" I mumbled anxiously. Rushing out of the house. I was short of words.I was about stopping a taxi when Jason insisted on giving me a lift. "Take me to Graham avenue, I will take the subway to bronx" I said after jiffies of ackward silence. I just wasn't comfortable with him. I stared through the window as he drove, I thought he would interrogate me on why I was against him taking me to bronx, but he didn't. He only gave me a feeble nod and continued driving quietly down the road.I t
"Are you going to come to school tomorrow?" I asked Bethany as we came out of the subway."About that..." She mumbled breathing out a sigh. "I don't think am ready to face Neol yet!"I shoved my hands inside my hoodie and breathed out heavily. "Relationship is way more complicated than I assumed," I thought to myself. "So you are going to miss class tomorrow?"She gave me a sluggish nod and pouted almost immediately. "My little baby is going to miss me!" She whimpered, drying the phony tears from her eyes."Oh really?" I asked with a smile."Of course, am the only friend you have!" She boasted, nudging her hair across her ear. "I mean who else can keep up with you," she gave me a soft hit on my shoulder, grinning from ear to ear."Don't be too sure, I have a new friend now""Oh mine, are you being for real?" She smirked, leaning closer."That's more like a insult Bethany, are you trying to say am lying!" I sna
"Ace," I mumbled inaudibly as I stared at him, my heart racing."Finally," he breathed out sitting beside me. "How much I miss you." He move closer and sniffed me. " you still smell good." He complimented. I felt goosebumps all over my body."Am glad you are back," I stuttered, he paused and moved backward."Liar!" He mumbled biting his lower lip.I wanted to speak but my throat felt dry. He stared at my sketch. "Who is this?" He asked lifting the piece of paper by the edge like it was a piece of trash, he stared irritated at it. "Um. Nobody," I lied trying hard to sustain the shivering from my flimsy body.I drew Jason, I don't know why but he was the only person I could think of. Ace squeezed it and threw it into a trash can."Like I Care!" He Shrugged, stood up, and left. "He seems to be in a good mood," I thought with a sigh of relief. I stood up and walked out of the empty classroom.I felt lonely.I missed Bethany, it was just two days
"Please! Team me up with someone else, anyone!" I pleaded. "Listen I wish I can but you are the only one complaining here.""Hey, come over here!" Ace yelled out, his hands on his waist. "The game is getting started.""Pleassseee.." I emphasized. The coach scratched the back of his head as he stared down at me. "Listen."I don't mind trading partners," Someone said behind me. I almost leaped for joy but my smile subsided when I found out it was Noel."Okay, great! Lizzy team up with Ace." The coach openly declared."Sure," she grinned sheepishly, jogging towards Ace."Hey!" Noel waved. I replied with barely a nod. ~After the activities, we sat down exhausted. Noel pulled out a bottle of water and handed it to me. "You must be thirsty.""Thanks," I breathed out. He dropped his bottle of aside, and leaned upright, few strands of his black hair glued on his forehead. His brown eyes was fixed on a specific direction without cutting a
I woke up to the loud blaring of my alarm, I lazily reached out to slam it shut. I rubbed my eyes but still felt sleepy, maybe because I didn't manage to catch enough sleep yesterday night.Great!I sat up, yawned heavily as I wore my flip flops making my way into the bathroom. After a warm shower, I applied some ointments on my skin, wore a blue hoodie and a pair of blue jeans, brushed my hair, and clasped it in a tight ponytail. I stared at my reflection to see little dark circles under my eyes. "What a drag," I sigh, took my backpack, and walked downstairs for breakfast."Morning miss Clara," Sophia greeted with a smile."Morning Sophia, what about my aunt?" I asked taking a seat. "She will be joining us soon," she pushed a bowl of sushi towards me. "Orange Juice?" She asked pulling up the jug and I nodded. "Tony is having a fever, he won't be going to school." She said pouring the Orange Juice into my cup."Is it serious?" She shook her head. "I don't think so," she placed her
My stomach rumbled as I wash the toilet, I had missed lunch break because of Ace, how much I despise him.I stood up with a sigh, finally done. I pulled off my gloves and wiped the droplets of sweat from my forehead with the back of my hands.I washed my hands and strolled towards the door, it busted open before I could reach the doorknob, hitting me hard on my forehead. "Ouch," I groaned my hands on my forehead. "Why not watch where you are going!" I snapped, my face hardened in a frown. I peeked up to meet Sandra's grimacing glare, and without a word, she shoved me away."Hey!" I grumbled, my ass on the cold floor."Freak!" She cussed, and without sparing me a glimpse she shut the restroom door behind her. I exhaled. My stomach rumbled all my way to class, it was embarrassingly audible but it couldn't be helped.~School was over.I fished my phone from my jeans to give Bethany a call, it took a few rings before she finally picked up."Sorry I couldn't make it," she apologized eve
