Chapter 46 - Sudden Realization

His parents looked at him with a mixture of shock, disappointment, and confusion.

Lyra's face, however, was a mask of hurt and betrayal. Her eyes, usually filled with warmth and love for him, now held only the cold fire of anger and pain.

"David," Lyra's voice trembled as she spoke, fighting back tears. "How could you? How could you do this to me? To us?"

"I… I didn't… I swear, I don't know how this happened," David stammered, desperately trying to find the words to explain the inexplicable. "I don't even know who that woman is."

But his protestations fell on deaf ears. The damage was done, and the evidence was right there on the screen for all to see. He felt his world crumbling around him, the foundation of his life shaken by this unforeseen revelation.
