Chapter One Hundred-Eight

Aidan clenched his fists, his eyes blazing with determination. "I’m not giving up on Sophie. I don’t care what you say. I will be back, and I will find out the truth."

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Karina standing there, her heart pounding in her chest. She watched him go, a mix of relief and fear washing over her. She knew this wasn’t the end of it. Aidan wouldn’t stop until he got to the bottom of the truth, and she needed to be prepared for what was coming next.

"Oh damn," Karina let out, exhaling as she returned to the ward.

Reaching the exit, Aidan halted and stopped Gina, who almost walked past him. He gently said, "Karina didn't let me see Sophie, and I just want to know how she's getting better."

Gina, feigning annoyance, replied, "You should just leave and stop being hot-headed."

He nodded. "Yes, of course. Can you at least give me your number so I can stay updated regarding Sophie? I know Karina wouldn't want to see me around."
