Chapter 14:- Waterfall

“How are you feeling?” I asked James while checking his body temperature and next, I sighed in relief when I found him normal.

“Not good,” he muttered and grunted when his body shifted.

I immediately stood up and helped him to sit properly.

I knew he was feeling chronic pain all over his body and it was causing him difficulty sleeping and moving.

My heart wrenched, seeing him like this. I had been working for Luther’s men for a week. And almost all of his men had recovered properly except him. James was the only man who had no improvement in his health. And I was worried about him.

“Can you give me a few painkillers?” He breathed, and his brows creased due to the irritation. He placed his hand on his stomach before letting out, “It begins again.”

Abdominal pain!

“Sure.” I gave him a nod and brought him pills before giving them to him with a glass of water.

“Thanks.” He forced a smile before swallowing the pills down. After a moment, he rested his head against the bed and close
